Anybody have a family member get married at the same place as you?

Was it weird being back at your hall as a guest?

Or, if you got married at a family member's hall, did you find it helpful being present as a guest before you had your own wedding there?

FH is the last of four to get married.

and they all had their receptions at the same place - FH wanted to carry on the tradition.

I dont think any of them think its weird - its kind of nice actually!

it helped were were guests there - and they gave us a great price!

My two cousins (one from dad side, one from mom side) got married at Westbury Manor over 10 years ago. They both thanked us for bringing back good memories of their own weddings there.

I would LOVE to go to a wedding there again..... but for now I will just have to be happy with the anniversary dinner they give us at our one year mark

My wedding was at the same place where my nephew's Bar Mitzvah was 3 months earlier. I am glad because we got a full tasting from soup to nuts. The only difference was that the presentation of desserts was more kid-friendly at my nephew's party, but the caliber of food was exactly the same. We added a full scale sushi bar in the cocktail hour and an international coffee bar during dessert. We chose some different entrees. We also opted for a different appetizer - fresh fruit as opposed to soup. Id say about 25-30% of his guests were at my wedding and they couldn't wait to come back.

I didn't have a family member get married at the same place. However a close friend did. It was 3 months after our wedding. DH and I were very happy to be back as guests. It was a really good experience.

Not a family member but a good friend from LIW, actually.

It was not weird at all, it was actually so much fun. It was only 4 months after my own wedding so my wedding was still quite fresh in my mind. It was almost like attending my wedding as a guest - hard to describe. I loved it. But who knows... it could've just been because it was a beautiful wedding anyway.

We didn't have a family member get married at the same exact place but at a place that was the same owners. My brother got married at the Sandcastle & we were the Floral Terrace. It was great to know that we would not be disappointed.

Also, I am with Hollie in terms of a good friend of ours got married a year before us & also 8 weeks before us. It was great to be a guest at a place knowing your wedding is going to be there! You saw the "behind" the scenes aspect of being a guest & how the staff treated the guests. When we walked out of both weddings, we were more then thrilled to know that our wedding was being held there!

I got married at the same hall my sister did. I knew I wouldn't have to worry about anything.

I got married at the Watermill and so did my brother. They looked at a bunch of other places and they just liked the Watermill a lot. My SIL didn't go to my wedding (they weren't dating at the time) and she actually chose the Watermill. It did not feel wierd. My DH and I were so excited to be going back there. It was great.

My brother and my friend are both getting married at Westbury Manor - actually a week apart form each other -


I CAN'T wait to be a guest...I didn't get to enjoy the food at our wedding because we were saying hello to everyone - so it will be nice to enjoy it on the other side of it
