Anybody looking for a 3 bedroom house in Lindenhurst?

My parents house, the house I grew up in, is for sale.

I love my parents house, they are moving up to CT to be closer to their kids and grandkidsChat Icon They just remodeled the whole house-inside and outside, basically move in ready!

It's walking distance to LIRR, town and in the Village of Lindenhurst.

3 bedroom, 3 full bath Home in Lindenhurst

Hmmm, similiar houses in the area with their land size, house size, and since it was totally remodeled are comparitive to that. Who knows though! Around the block houses sold for 600K.

Time will only tell. I've been off LI for almost 7 years, so I am in a different view here in CT. For the price a tiny 1000 square foot ranch sells for on LI, I can get a 2000 square foot home with at least a 1/2 acre of land for the same price in a good area for the same price.

I've seen dumps in Lindenhurst, needing so much work, no land sell for almost 400k.Chat Icon

I know Lindenhurst very well -im surprised that a house in that area sold for $600K unless its a new construction colonial. they could have gotten that price two years ago maybe, but i dont they will today in this market, jmo.

good luck to them! I bet you are glad they are moving closer!

I told my dad the same-2 years ago different. But the broker sees it differently, he thinks it will sell quick they actually lowered it after their broker open house. I am worried, I never thought lindy would go that high either.

I guess it will be a certain kind of buyer looking and purchasing it.

I am just estastic they are moving up to CT! My mom doesn't do well with change, and even though CT is almost like LI, it's still different, especially since they will be living closer to MA.

It's bittersweet though, I will miss that house. I spend 24 years of my life in that house. Growing up, dances, proms, my wedding. Chat Icon

Re: Anybody looking for a 3 bedroom house in Lindenhurst?

that seems very high for Lindenhurst. The highest selling ranch in the last 6 months (not on the water) sold for $420K. There's very little selling over $500K and they're all much larger houses.

If they really want to sell, they should reconsider that price.

eta: I just pulled all listings in Lindy. This is by far the highest priced ranch in town. The next listing is $499K, then $459K (both newly renovated).

I think their realtor is doing them a disservice.

There are quite a few larger, newer homes (or recently renovated / expanded homes) right on that block and within a few blocks, so it might help them get a decent price. It is a nice neighborhood. Good luck to them!

I agree- that price is not right for the house and the area
