Re: Anybody use a walker?
We have this one and Emily loves it just as a toy -- there are a lot of fun things to do -- and she just started this week really using it as a walker and practically running with it around the house.
It is by Fisher Price!
She also loves her Leap Frog shopping cart and has been walking with that for a while now but it is at Grandpa's house! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Anybody use a walker?
We have push cart walkers but not the traditional type of walker if that's what you are referring too.

Yes, I mean the ones they stand in, not push. Thanks.

I bought a regular-type walker for my grandson about 2 months ago. I was looking for the kind that my daugher had when she was just starting to get around and found it in BRU for $29.99. He liked it so much and did so well in it, that my daughter bought the same one for him. It allowed him to be more mobile. I believe the whole idea is to get them to move their legs in a walking motion and to strenghten their muscles. While an exersaucer will, certainly, strenghthen them, IMO it falls short. I live in a ranch home and do not have any stairs and I know this a major safety consideration. If precautions are taken, however, I believe they benefit more from a simple walker. I know my grandson has.

Re: Anybody use a walker?
I will use one. I am a firm believer that walkers really help. My friends daughter was walking at 10 months and she loved her walker. I will also use the exersauser but only until she is big enough for the walker.

Re: Anybody use a walker?
we use one at work....it's SO funny. We raised it as she got taller, but we have lowered it again so she can use her feet flat.....well let me tell you this kid is off and RUNNING in it.
We put her in it at 4 months old just to entertain her....she started moving it with her tippy toes.....

Re: Anybody use a walker?
My DS has been using a walker since he was 4 months old. At the beginning he would only move backwards, now he moves all over....backwards, forwards, sideways. He LOVES it!

Re: Anybody use a walker?
we have the red fisher price car and Olivia loves to ride on it and then use it as a walker. it does move a little quick as a walker so i stand behind her and apply pressure until she learns to walk slow and steady on her own. the age for this is 9+ i started her 1 month early so that may make the difference. Re: Anybody use a walker?
i used both for my daughter and she was walking with assitance by 9 months and on her own by 11 months. i am for the walkers, we don't have stairs so it was not a hazard in my home.
