Re: Anyone add a seperate heating zone

We just did ours but it's incorporated into the cost of some major renovations we're doing so I can't say what that aspect of it added to the total. I think the extent of what's involved is in part based on what you have in place currently and how accessible things are. I can recommend our plumber if you'd like to talk to him.

Re: Anyone add a seperate heating zone

we have 12 zones of heating
It will be tricky if all your walls are closed up.
You would have to rip them open, depending on where you need the pipe to go and how your house is set up.

If you want an estimate i have someone who just did our house and all the zones.

Re: Anyone add a seperate heating zone

I think as long as there is access in the basement and they can identify the existing lines they don't necessarily need to rip up walls. We're relocating some stuff upstairs in the dormer but down in the basement they split two lines off the furnace and have them running across the ceiling (exposed on the unfinished side where everything is exposed, and under the drop ceiling on the finished side). In our case, it sounded like it was pretty simple. We had inquired through Petro when we first moved in and someone came out to look at things and didn't mention anything about having to rip out walls.
