Anyone attempting the beach this summer alone?
...or with other friends, and no DH??? Think it's possible? Any suggestions on how to carry the two - or any products to help?
I would hate to not try but I feel like it is going to be !

Sounds like fun, but totally exhausting to me! I can't imagine carrying 2 babies and all of our "stuff" down to the beach. I would love any suggestions on items that would be helpful!

We were there today but just walked the boardwalk. I dont think i'd be able to do the sand alone.

Re: Anyone attempting the beach this summer alone?
Mine are walking so it would not be that bad, well I might have to rethink that I did go tot eh beach one day with 2 kids and 3 adults and it was tortorous.
DH wants to get a beach pass to take the truck on the beach, but I think the ride there would be too rough for them.

Im going!!! without dh. I am taking them out for the first public ordeal memorial day weekend if its warm. We go to Cupsogue beach in the hamptons in the summer. I already bought a pop up tent from bru. You need a good beach wagon with big wheels..or.,.a big wagon period..for all your stuff and these two babies! I didnt do it with twins but I did it with two babies a year apart for years.

Re: Anyone attempting the beach this summer alone?
I have to say it is tough...I met some really nice ladies on here at the Ecology Site on Sunday and I was by myslef, and feeding both of them and trying to let them both have a turn at taking them out of the stroller to pet the animals sure was tough, but I did it, so BRING ON THE BEACH!!!!!
And we saw Triplets there, so could you imagine??

Not bringing triplets to the beach - no I couldn't imagine that! But some days I think, this is easy I could totally handle triplets! And some days I how am I handling 2???
I guess as long as I have their sun shade, bottles, diapers, wipes and sunscreen, I'll be ok. Now I'm tempted to make a trial trip one of these days!

I like your thinking! I run back to the car to get the stuff while you watch the kids and you get 100 people looking at you like are those ALL yours?

Re: Anyone attempting the beach this summer alone?
i am definitely going to the beach. i think you need a jogging stoller, double ray shade, umbrella. so a little sand may get in their bottle i spent many summers eating sand... in my food when i was little.

You ladies are brave
We haven't been anywhere except around the neighborhood in our snap and go so the thought of a beach outing seems about as challenging to me as organic chemistry
I could pic everyone now... it would look like the baby version of the invasion of Normandy
If anyone could do it it would be you ladies

Re: Anyone attempting the beach this summer alone?
I am! But I have some friends (who have no kids yet) who live in Long Beach now so I have extra hands. No way would i go to the beach by myself with the two babies. That would be way too much!
I plan on getting one of those tents from One Step Up catalog that protects the babies from the sun.

Re: Anyone attempting the beach this summer alone?
No way!!!! I could never handle the 2 of them by myself at a crowded beach!!!! They go off running in different directions as it is now!!!
Last year was differnet - they weren't walking yet - so yes we did go to the beach. But no way am I brave enough to do it this year!

Re: Anyone attempting the beach this summer alone?
I am not a twin mommy but it is definitly a fear of mine.
I am not sure where everyone lives, but their is a small child friendly beach in Massapequa - Florence Beach. It opens to the bay, the water is always clam, the beach is very small and usually is only locals. Their is always 2 life guards on duty and kids seem to really love it their. They also have a nice playground for the kids to play one. I plan on going their with DS and my preggo self until I deliever.
