Anyone been to San Francisco?
Im considering adding it into our HM trip. We would get 3 days there. I have never been to California...so it would be nice. Plus our flight home stops there anyways on the way home from Hawaii.
Whats there to see? DO?
Would 3 days be a waste? Any imput would be great.......thanks!

Re: Anyone been to San Francisco?
I've spent a long weekend there and loved it. There are plenty of sites to see IMO, but if it were me I'd spend the extra day in Hawaii and two in SF.
Other than Alcatrez, the Pier & the bridge, we pretty much hung out in the bars...and went bungee jumping, but I doubt you'd do that on your hm.

Re: Anyone been to San Francisco?
Besides what the above posters said - you can rent a car for the day and go to a couple of vineyards in Napa or Sonoma

Re: Anyone been to San Francisco?
San Francisco is just a gorgeous city, I loved it there!
I'd say 2-3 days is sufficient time to see the sights in SF. As already stated, we went to Alcatraz and the Wharf, took pics by the Golden Gate bridge, visited their Chinatown and Little Italy... I thought the food was really fantastic everywhere we went (its been at least 7 yrs since I was there so I cannot recall specifically where we ate though..). And make sure you see Lombard Street, the crookedest/windest street you'll ever see
Ooh and make sure you get some Ghiardhelli Chocolate!!

Re: Anyone been to San Francisco?
Hi Debbie!
Ther has been some talk of SF on the Trav el board lately. I am going next month--working for a few days & then DH is meeting me & we just 2 days to see the city, but I think that is enough, from what I have been reading.
We are not venturing out of the actual city though.

Re: Anyone been to San Francisco?
I lived there for a long time and posted a bunch of stuff not long ago. I will try to find it and link to it for you.
Found it! Stuff to do
ETA: April is one of the best times to visit SF, IMO. The summer is actually kind of cold and can be very foggy.

Also, try doing a day trip to the vineyards. You can take a tour bus there.
