Anyone been to Simply Fondue in Great Neck yet? Update below!
Dh and I are thinking of going there tonight with a friend and wondered if anyone has tried it yet. It looks like the melting pot.

If you went can you post a review? I live here in town and haven't heard anything about it - no buzz or anything.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone been to Simply Fondue in Great Neck yet?
We had a nice time - DH and I went with a friend of mine. They have a full 4 course meal for $38 pp (you get salad, cheese fondue, meat course (you choose 9 items between one couple) and a chocolate fondue. Well our service was eh - the server said they had been open for 3 months already - but she was mixed at best - and she was training someone who she said had been there much longer than she had and she only finished training 2 days before. They made our cheese fondue completely wrong (we had two different ones since there were three of us and they mixed them completely up if we hadn't said anything she would have just let it go).
Overall, my friend said he thought that the melting pot was better and my husband and I pretty much agreed. You do get bigger portions at the melting pot - so it was nice at simply fondue to not feel so stuffed after the meal. But I think part of the fact there was less was that our server mixed up and only gave us half portions of the cheese fondue (we were supposed to get 1 full order and 1 - 1/2 order and we got two 1/2 orders.
I think it will be better when they get the kinks out of it - and I would return (esp b.c it is much closer to me than farmingdale is) and it was good - but I think if I had the time to drive to the melting pot that would beat out this place - but not by a whole lot.

Also they have some specials - on a board outside, I don't know about them but one of them mentioned a 10% off daily between 5-6 - and there were several other specials.
Also it wasn't crowded and it does have a nice atmosphere - but again it is very similar to the melting pot.

thanks i had been wondering as it is isn't in the greatest location and if people in this town don't support something, it goes right out of business... before it was another place and a lady was walking around waldbaum's (which is under the restaurant) passing around flyers for that place.
thanks for letting me know we need some younger hipper places here

LOL actually it used to be a pool hall, and next door was bennigans for many years (DH used to work there like 13 or 14 years ago. And it used to be pretty popular esp with the merchant marine academy apparently. I agree it isn't the best location - but honestly I would probably go back only b.c it is like a 15 min drive and the melting pot is like a 35 mins drive. Since my parents watch DD they usually want her picked up early so it is easier for us to go locally.
The real problem is that I don't think they have any advertising - I NEVER heard of it before until a friend of mine said they were going last week - otherwise I would NEVER know it existed.
