Anyone cruise while pregnant?
Hubby and I are torn about booking a cruise during my February break. We will be TTC soon, but lord knows if we will be successful right away.
Am I totally stupid for even trying to go away if I'm pregnant?

Re: Anyone cruise while pregnant?
I cruised to Bermuda when I was 7 months preggo with Damien. I had a good time, but my DH would go to the casino and I would go to bed because I was exhausted. We did save on alcohol though Thank goodness you don't pay for the food, which I certainly enjoyed

Thanks Stacey! Even when I'm not preggo, hubby goes to the casino and I go to bed
My TA has a great deal for us on Princess - if all goes as planned, I will be about halfway through my second trimester.

Re: Anyone cruise while pregnant?
I am not pregnant yet but we have a cruise on the Crown Princess in the end of Nov. Originally I looked into it b.c we were going to TTC in May/June but I got promoted so we pushed it off and are now starting in about 2-3 weeks after I have an MRI I need.
As long as you are not 26 or 27 weeks (depends on the cruise line) it is no problem with them. We hope to be pregnant by the time of the cruise!
Go and have a great time! I did run it by my doctor who told me to go and have a great time!

Re: Anyone cruise while pregnant?
I would love to but I get sea sick and use Bonine so I dont think I would have a good time. I love cruises!!! except the day you leave with that mad rush so early!

Re: Anyone cruise while pregnant?
thanks ladies! I figure we can buy the insurance, so if I have a rough pregnancy we can back out.

Re: Anyone cruise while pregnant?
If you are pregnant check with the cruise line and your doctor.
I am going on a cruise Sept 29 with work and one of my co-workers who is due Nov 4 needed a letter from her doctor oking the cruise. if she had the letter it wouldnt be an issue. However her doctor would not allow her to go because she felt it was too close to her due date.
Definately get the insurance, and get it as soon as you book.

She probably needed a letter b/c she is about 8 months along.
You will be ok in the second trimester, infact, my doctor said if I wanted to take a trip to do it around then! I think cruising would be fun while preggo if you don't get seasick!

Re: Anyone cruise while pregnant?
One thing- check your insurance carefully - We had this in mind when we bought ours - some won't let you cancel for pregnancy unless you can prove it is a bad one - so if you have morning sickness but your doctor won't say you have a real problem they might not let you cancel.
BTW make sure to book the insurance ASAP when you book - most will have a pre-existing condition clause - this way if something happens you don't have to worry about it - they waive the clause if you buy within 10-20 days (depends on the insurance) of booking the trip but many still won't let you cancel if your doctor just says I don't think it is a good idea so read the fine print carefully

Re: Anyone cruise while pregnant?
We went this past June and I was 22 weeks at the time. We had a great time and the pregnancy didn't stop me at all. Of course I couldn't drink and there were a few excursions I wouldn't have been able to do, but that's it.

I cruised to the wester caribbean when I was about 10 weeks. I had to alter some excursions but I still had a blast!
