Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
I delivered my other two at Mercy and I had one great experience for #1 and a horrible labor for #2.
The other choice I have to deliver is South Nassau. Anyone have any feedback on them? I like the hospital itself, we had Juliette's tonsils and her arm set there when she broke it.

Re: Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
I delivered DS there last year and will be delivering baby #2 there as well! The doctors and nurses were great! The LC was with me for every feeding because I was having BF'ing issues. DS also got excellent care in the NICU. Also, it was nice that the rooms are all private!

Re: Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
i delivered there with DS in september (scheduled c-section). i am so sad that i am moving and won't be able to deliver there again! the doctors and nurses were wonderful, as were the LCs.
my absolute favorite nurse there was stephanie - i'll never forget her. she helped me when i was ridiculously sleep-deprived and DS wasn't latching. i owe her a LOT!

Re: Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
I delivered DS there and will NOT go to any other hospital to deliver. My new OB delivers there, Winthrop and Mercy. I told them I am going to South Nassau with or without them
The maternity ward is new, clean and extremely comfortable. The nurses were AMAZING...cannot say enough about them b/c they literallly did 95% of the work. I just had a wonderful experience.

Re: Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
I delivered DD #1 there 2 years ago and will be delivering DD #2 in 3 weeks both by C/S. I loved it and had a wonderful experience. The nurses were excellent and so helpful. The nurse that was with me through my labor was the best (of course I cant remmeber her name), She even came to my room after I had the baby to see how I was. The rooms are very big and clean, all private with your own bathroom. A lot of people that have never been there always seem to make a face when I say I am delivering there instead of LIJ or North Shore, but I have nothing but good things to say about the Maternity ward at South Nassa.

Re: Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
i delivered #1 there and can't wait to go back for #2!! i will not deliver anywhere else--it's like a hotel!
the nurses (except for one) were fabulous, the LCs aren't pushy and are very helpful and the food is really good! i didn't ask DH to bring me anything because i actually loved the food.
the rooms are spacious and NO roommates!!

Do you go to King/Blinderman?
I told them the same thing. I work on an ambulance that covers Hempstead and I bring my ob patients to mercy and have not had good experiences with them. I only want to go to South Nassau. I told them if I have complications and if I go into labor early I will go to Winthrop but not MERCY. They said well if we are at mercy then you will need to go there. I said NOPE I will be delivered but who ever shows up at South Nassau. lol

Re: Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
Please don't get me wrong, my experience for my daughter was amazing there. They were great! And the Maternity ward was even better...
My son was a nightmare. Nurses arguing while I was in the prep area, they couldn't find the medicine room keys, they didn't check me for a few hours and didn't know I was contracting because the monitor fell off. By the time they decided to check me, I was 8cm and had no epidural. It was a real nightmare.
I was talking to dh about it and then we realized that Dr, Guzman may be affiliated with another hospital. Did the research and haven't heard anything negative.
But for my daughter, Mercy gets an A!

Re: Anyone deliver/delivering at South Nassau?
I have had 3 kids there, most recently last week. I had my first in the old wing and my other 2 in the new wing. I love the privacy and the food was pretty good too. I felt the care I received there was as good if not better than anything I have read or heard about any other hospital. Please Fm me with any specific questions since I just got out 2 days ago.
