Anyone do a bday party at Build a Bear?
I am looking at options for Sasha's 3rd bday. I want to do something different than the gym party everyone else does.
Is 3 too young for this kind of party? Considering she's one of the oldest of her friends-- and they also don't allow food in the location by me. I don't want to do food in the food court of the mall, so I thought I would do a goodie bag of snacks and a cake pop or something- but there will be no birthday cake and singing. I feel like she will kinda get robbed of the bday party experience.
Anyway-- anyone do this and have thoughts?

I personally think Build a Bear for a bday party isn't the best option for 2 year olds. If they were all 3 or 4 I think maybe it would be better.

I don't like that there is no cake. Most kids going to a party want to sing Happy Birthday kwim?

yes-- I was thinking that when older and less kids. I am inviting at least 20, so will prob end up with 15ish. I can't imagine 15 2 to 3 y/o running around that place-- with no sit down and cake to keep it all organized.

Re: Anyone do a bday party at Build a Bear?
I considered having a party there for DDs 4th birthday. I ended up not doing it because of their lack of a party room. I thought cake/singing "Happy Birthday" would be cheesy in the mall's food court. I also figured gifts would be tough to keep track of and it would pretty much be all around unorganized chaos. There isn't anywhere to sit, so I felt it would be rushed and everyone would be standing on top of each other. We ended up inviting only DDs best friend to Build a Bear and allowed the girls to pick out whatever they wanted. They had the time of their lives. I'm happy I was able to enjoy it without worrying about 20 other 3-4 year olds and their parents.

DS is 2, and would have no patience for that at this age.

thx for the feedback. I think regardless of other experiences, it's probably not the right choice for us.
It's just so hard finding something different to do!!

Just and idea of something different: My sister-in-laws friend did a party at the carousel near the children's museum in naussua and said it was really cute, they have themes to pick from too like alice in wonderland etc.

Re: Anyone do a bday party at Build a Bear?
yes, i agree. my son is turning 5 and we're doing a painting pottery party at the painted penguin (chicago area) where they'll allow us to have pizza and cake.
for my daughter who turns 3 we'll be doing a my gym party.
last yr. we had my son's party at a train restaurant where the train brings the kids' food out and it was a hit.
