Anyone do immunotherapy for allergies?

I'm allergic to my dogs, its gotten worse after having my DD

I was considering immunotherapy but am wondering if it'll even make a difference. I have HORRIBLE ENT problems because of my allergies to my dogs (which didn't surface too much until a year or two in)

My DH takes singular. Did you ever try that?

Re: Anyone do immunotherapy for allergies?

I am allergic to my cat.

I get allergy shots, use allegra, singular and sometimes Astepro nose spray. I had sinus, deviated septum and nasal polyp surgeries.

I am better with the shots, but still not 100%. If she scratches my skin it will get red and puff up. Before it would get red, puff up and swell and spread - so it is better but not totally away.

I am also allergic to grass, trees, weeds and mold. So I also get shots for those. If I was allergic just to my cat, i probably wouldn't do it. But since I'm basically allergic to everything on earth the shots are worth it to me.

In the beginning it takes a lot of time to get to maintenance levels (it took me 1 year and I went twice a week - usually they say once a week for 2 years but i wanted to accellerate the process.)

Let me know if you have more questions.

I know someone who is doing it for her cat but it takes a VERY long time. She said she sees a difference and its been about a year.
