anyone else a slave to their dc's schedule?

it's not that my dc needs the routine, it's that since he has feeding issues our day revolves around his eating and drinking. i feel if i'm off my normal time to do something then it messes up his day (food/drink.)

9am breakfast (45min-1hour)

11:30- done by 12 latest -sippy (pediasure)

1- lunch (45-1 hr)

2-430- nap

430-530- snack, music and pediasure

6- bath

7- dinner (1 hour)

9- pediasure

10- bed

EVERY SINGLE DAY!

so i have to insert therapy, errands, and play into that. it's just tiring. and now with the new baby coming i'm wondering how much worse it'll get.

Is he a slow eater or just real fussy? We don't have huge feeding issues it's just he's super picky so his diet is so limited. We also use Pediasure but I was told only to use 1 bottle a day- were you told differently? Now I'm wondering maybe I'm not giving him enough.

he has sensory issues so eating is not pleasant for him and he's a behavioral eater b/c of it. he'll pocket his food in his mouth (not chew or swallow), he will only eat when he has a book, he is super slow, and since he has low oral muscle tone chewing is not typical. he also vomits a lot!

we give him the pediasure b/c of the vomitting and b/c he doesn't eat much. he was told to drink 3 a day but i just cut it to 2 1/2 a day.

they should eat about 1000 calories a day and the pediasure is 250 cals. so if your dc consumes enough calories without the extra pediasure your fine.

Why not give the pediasure as his drink with dinner and save yourself a little time there? do you think that could work?

We are slaves to a schedule too because of how many services DS gets. our typical looks like this

7-8 wake up anywhere in between.

8 breakfast: milk, cereal with applesauce, followed by dry cheerios which he'll sit and eat foreverChat Icon

10-11:30 morning ABA session

11:30-2 nap

2-3:45 afternoon ABA session. I'll usually give him some sort of snack at the beginning of the session. milk plus cut up fruit and yogurt or half a sandwich. Some thing like that.

3:45-4:30 PT/OT/or speech

4:30-6 we play

6 dinner

7 bath

7:30-8 bed
