Anyone else been to Harvest Moon Farm in Westchester???

Someone suggested we go there

I was planning on going out east ...but I have heard from too many people IRL and on here that Irene ruined it for us this year

So I have heard it is better to "go up or west"

and it happens to be the first link listed..

just wondering if anyone had any experience going there and it is worth the trip!

I went last weekend.

It was really wet (think MUD all over & cars getting stuck in the parking lot), and SUPER crowded, but nice.

They had a pumpkin patch (but at $18 for a large pumpkin... which wasn't that large IMO, so cheapo us went in, took pics & came out), pony rides, food (which was tasty), apple picking, music, bounce house, hayrides and probably more that I didn't even get to do or see.

Because parking is a tough thing to do (they have very few spaces & were giving it to handicapped people only by the time we got there), you park up at another farm up the street for $5, which you get back when you buy something there.

All in all... it was packed full of activities... but also packed full of people (so NOT tranquil). Maybe compared to other places in LI that I've been... the crowding was about the same. DS DID have a great time though!

It will take about 40 minutes to get there from the Whitestone Bridge if you have no traffic. It's really one of the closest places in Westchester (thus the crowding).

This is where we go apple picking every yea. It can be crowded but the orchard it huge, so it's not bad. The pumpkin patch isn't that great in my opinion because I THINK the pumpkins are just dumped in the field. We only go for the real deal...off the vine!
