Anyone else dreading Thanksgiving?

This might not be a popular thought but, I so don't wanna deal with Thanksgiving or Christmas this year. This year has been an absolute nightmare IF wise and I really am gonna have a hard time pretending I'm happy tomorrow. I'm not, this all sucks. Yes, I have things to be thankful for but this is all so unfair. Oh well I guess I'll have to deal with a full house of guests and try to hold myself together. If one person asks when we are having kids I might just loose my mind.

Hope you all make it through tomorrow okay. I'll be thinking about you ladies.

Anyone else dreading Thanksgiving?

My original EDD was Christmas - and it's when AF is due next - so it's either going to be an awesome or a REALLY crappy Christmas.

I was until our families finally let us be. I'm cooking dinner for just DH and I. It's exactly what I need. Quiet at home. No small talk. Just us.

Glad you are able to be at home with DH - I know you mentioned a few times you wanted it just the two of you and of course the pups. Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else dreading Thanksgiving?

Yep! Me too, me too!!!!! I'm so happy you posted this bc I've been feeling the same way, and I thought I was the only one! This was one of my favorite times of the year but this year I just want to stay in bed and cry. I haven't decorated for Halloween, fall, or Thanksgiving and I'm dreading the XMas festivities. I've tried to explain this to my family but they just don't get it. I can't stop the feeling that I may never have a family of my own to have family get-togethers with and make holiday memories with, and that's what's dominating my thoughts. I just want to wake up from this nightmare.

Even though we are all going through so much, and for some it's gonna be a rough day; I hope you all are able to enjoy your day.

XOXO to you all!!!!!

Re: Anyone else dreading Thanksgiving?

I'm not feeling it either. But I also think back to last year when we were living somewhere else bc Sandy destroyed our home. Also had surgery to remove an ovarian tumor three weeks after Sandy. So this year I'm grateful things are much better than they were; that being said, I have surgery this coming week and hopefully this will be it before our IVF in Jan. 2014. I'm trying. Key word trying to focus on the positive in my life rather than be sad for what we don't have. We're spending Thanksgiving at home in our pjs alone by ourselves. My SO is getting over a Nasty flu and I'm not feeling great. Seeing family over the weekend.

I'm truly thankful for the girls on this board. I know I'm not alone and fighting a battle like many of you. I'm hoping 2014 will be a better year for all of us... Xoxo

Hey ladies thanks for the responses. Glad that I'm not alone. I made it through today. We were so busy hosting that I didn't have much time to be sad. Nobody asked me about having kids so that was a plus. Only annoying thing is my mom told me my cousin's wife is preg and also gave me an invitation for another cousin's baby shower. All of my cousins are super busy with baby making: JOY.

Hope you all made it through today okay. I think what has me going is that 2014 has to be better than 2013.

Oh and AF is here FINALLY on CD 35! Annoyed bc we can't do a FET this month since I was late and the lab is closed end of December. Always something.

Thanks for your support ladies.

I could of written this. I too fear I will never have a family. I can hardly sleep bc this thought will not leave my head. Is it too much to ask for to have one child? Uhhh IF is so unfair. Only thing is I haven't explained any of this to our families. They wouldn't get it and would just be annoying. We prefer to suffer in silence. Hang in there, I'm hoping 2014 is a lot better for all of us.

I was also feeling this way, but everyone we were with knows about our situation so that made it tons easier. And a cousin who's pregnant and does not know about our situation wasn't there!! I want to get through 2013 and I really hope for a good 2014 for us all...

Re: Anyone else dreading Thanksgiving?

I was dreading it, but I think I ended up pleasantly surprised. We decided to "take off" doing anything until the New Year, and it was nice to just enjoy the time. I'm glad we postponed because otherwise I would have been too stressed. And of course I just keep pretending that next Christmas I will have a baby!

I know it's soooo hard and stressful but I hate to hear anyone sad at this time of the year.... Try and think of the good things in your life and keep positive that next year will be the year you get to shower your own little baby with presents from Santa!

My weekend was pretty rough. Third consecutive MC and it happened to be Chanukkah and Thanksgiving. At least it was a distraction, but I was hoping for a happier holiday this yearChat Icon
