Anyone else freaked out since that poor baby girl died when the family T.V. fell on her last week??

I am freaked about this.

As many of you know, that even at 3 1/2, Ava is a whirlwind to say the least.

All of our furniture is bolted to the walls, and everything else is pretty much baby proofed.

Just a few days ago, I came from the kitchen to the living room to find her climbing up the entertainment center. She said she wanted to "Get into the TV with Princess Giselle " (Movie-Enchanted.....

I explained over and over again, but I don't know if she really gets that it is dangerous. It even said in that same article that an 8 year old boy died from the tv falling on him last year. So, I guess age doesn't really matter. Kids don't have good judgement, plain and simple.

I have been to Toys R Us and Babies R Us and they don't sell anything to hold down a tv. Any ideas????

Thanks

No ideas. We have a tv very similar to the one that fell on that toddler. I talked to DH about how to secure it a few days before that happened, and he said he didn't think DS would every be able to knock it over. Well, no.

I don't know what we'll do yet, and we have some time. Maybe go to a neighborhood hardware store and ask for ideas? I find they are usually much more helpful than Lowe's or Home Depot staff. The other thought I had was to buy a cabinet we could lock and secure to the wall, but I'm not sure that will be foolproof really.

A wall mount for a flat screen is expensive, but would solve your worries...
