Anyone else get told this? why do people feel the need to say anyting?
Some people (like my coworkers) tell me im Huge.. then others tell me im tiny. WHY WHY WHY.. what makes them think this is appropiate either way to say to someone? Im pregnant.. another life inside me, not like i can control it.

I hear ya!
Nobody has come right out and said I'm huge (well except the rude lady in the grocery store last week!), but I've had comments like "oh, you're due soon huh?" Ummmmmm noooooo... I'm still in my 2nd trimester, thank you very much.
People need to keep it to themselves!

OMG! I totally agree- then they ask if its my first and breathe a sigh of relief when I say its my second, like that explains how huge I am

People are just rude.
My neighbor across the street asked if i was having twins the other day..he said wow, you went from a size 0 to 100.
i was like THANKS.
He is an older fellow and didnt mean anything by it, but STILL!

Yes, I get both. I don't really mind all that much either way. I don't think people say things to be inentionally rude, they are just trying to commiserate with you.

Re: Anyone else get told this? why do people feel the need to say anyting?
I get the opposite. Whenever I tell someone I am pregnant, they say I don't look pregnant at all and ask if the baby is ok.
I felt very self conscious about this but my doctor informed me the baby is the same size as other babies. Mothers just carry differently.
People should just be quiet and not say anything.

.
This is sooooooooo true. My SIL is due the day after me, and we look so different. I look VERY pregnant, while she is barely showing.

I only get the huge thing (well not in those words ) but daily I get:
Wow- due any day now huh ???
Twins ???
You have HOW long ?????
And when I say daily, I mean any time I leave the house- same thing happened w/ DS and I was much more sensitive about it then- now that I know it comes off after the baby gets here, I can be a little more relaxed when people flap their gums to me !

Honestly, some people are so tactless.
The only appropriate comments for a pregnant lady are:
- You got a cute belly - You're glowing/radiant - You look amazing for - weeks/months

Re: Anyone else get told this? why do people feel the need to say anyting?
People are idiots.
The only thing I ever say to pregant women is "how are you feeling" and "you look great"
To me, any other comments about names, my weight, when I stop working, etc are uncalled for.

I HATE this...someone yesterday at work told me "your face is so much FULLER!" and another made a face like "OMG!" and pointed to her belly....I just smile and mutter F-you under my breath

Yes...all the time. My boss told me I was huge the other day and thought I was having a 15 lb baby! Then that same day a woman stopped and asked me how far along I was and gasped at how "tiny" I was.

last week the dr. looked at me, said "oh boy you're big, pack a bag" i laughed!

Re: Anyone else get told this? why do people feel the need to say anyting?
It's gotten to the point where people don't say anything to me. They just look at me like, .
Even my DH, who watched how big my belly got with #1 can't help but say, "I cannot BELIEVE how big your belly is...." And like the PP, my OB even commented on my big belly last week- but then again, DD is measuring very big.
Honestly, I think it's because most people don't come into contact with pregnant women THAT often- so they don't know the "pc" thing to say.
Because of my own experiences, I just say to other pg women, "You look great!" regardless of how they look.
