Anyone else had/have a DC that constantly peed and pooped WHILE getting changed?

We have had to make special provisions in the changing area to account for the "free-ness" that Sasha feels when her diaper is off.

The Ped said it's normal and I guess would stop eventually. It makes changing her a total PITA as she can go through multiple diapers, disposable and NON disposable changing pad covers and clothing changes.

Anyone else have this? What did you do to "protect the area" and how long did it last for?


I hope Sasha doesn't find this post in 15 years!

Funny DH and I were just saying remember when DD would pee and poo when we changed her? This slowed down alot around 2 mths, never happens anymore (but she may pee when we go to give her a bath due to the water).

Protect what area? Changing table or her bottom?

If you mean the table, I had a waterproof pad covered with a soft cover, with a waterproof sheet laid on top so I could quickly pull that off if she dirtied it.

DS did it for months!! I had several projetile pooping experiances with DS!!Around 3 months or so it slowed down!!

But he is again randomly getting me again! Just when I get comfy he pees on me!

DD was like this when she was a newborn. We changed her on those disposable changing pads always in the beginning. Also we made sure her clothing was well out of pee and poop range. I remember changing her and suddenly she started to poop...I was so grossed out! It does stop eventually!

My DH always compared it to soft serve ice cream....I can never go to carvel without thinking of her pooping!

Someone gave me a package of cloth diapers at my shower.. which i used to put under my ds on top of the changing pad cover incase of accidents...(really because i didnt trust dh to change a diaper)... it helped alot for saving from having to change the pad cover all the time...

Definitely put down those disposable changing pads - they were a lifesaver. DD was the queen of going as soon as the diaper came off - it does eventually end!

Oh yeah, I have been peed on many times by DS...we always kept a paper towel over his peesh when we were changing him, this way if he went while the diaper was off it would absorb most of the pee. We literally kept a roll of paper towels on his changing table. This worked best for us.

DH constantly got peed on by DS. He got pooped on twice. Thankfully, it never happened to me.

Although, it did stop around 8 weeks. For us it seemed like the minute the wet wipe hit his bottom all bets were off.

when DS was a newborn after feeding we would lay him down on the changing table and just hang out for a few minutes because he almost always pooped right after eating, if not during. the few times we didn't wait long enough we paid the price with projectile poop

as far as the peeing, he still does it sometimes when i take his diaper off, so i keep him covered with a burp cloth.

i always have a cloth diaper on top of the changing pad cover for added "coverage"
