DD has this problem when she is hot and especially when she sweats , she gets a rash on the back (mostly base) of her head and her neck area and she starts to scratch like crazy. I feel so bad for her and I feel like sometimes people think she has lice or something.... I tried different shampoos , but nothing really helps and it's really hard to apply cream or anything inside her hair. I almost feel like cutting her hair, but she has such beautiful hair I just can't.... She used to have eczema and break out all over her body, but that went away when she was around 2-2.5 . So I thought that was it, but the "itchy scalp" just never went away. I did show the ped yesterday ( she was scratching after she got her shots and started sweating from crying and being upset) and he def thinks it's eczema. I got her a new shampoo yesterday, it's supposed to be for this problem, so I guess we'll see what happens. I'm just curious if anyone's child has the same problem.

DS seems to have a similar problem. When he is hot in the summer his head gets itchy.
Luckily, since he's a boy, we just try to keep his hair short. It definitely helps him.
He has eczema also. Do you see a dermatologist for her eczema? Maybe the derm could recommend a shampoo or cream that would help? In my own experience, my ped has not been helpful with the eczema issue at all...
Just in case it's helpful, we usually just use Johnson's baby shampoo, but once in a while I use Head and Shoulders because he still has some really stubborn cradle cap sometimes.
Sorry I'm not too helpful, but just wanted to say your DD is not the only one! Good luck.
