Anyone else have friends that are addicted to Drama?
And I'm not talking about LIF drama
I'm talking about drama in their personal lives. I have a friend who constantly has drama in her life... be it her on again/off again relationship with a guy who she's in a huge blow out with every other weekend, family drama, work drama. And, what's better, if you have drama in her life, somehow, she has had something else happen that is worse than what happened to you.
Don't get me wrong, she is a great friend, and a lot of fun, but sometimes I just can't take all the crap.
Anyone else have a friend like this? How do you deal?

I can definitely relate. My friend is dubbed "The drama queen". Nothing is ever status quo, there's always gotta be something over the top that prevents her from living a normal life. I'm not sure if I handle it, so much as I just

Re: Anyone else have friends that are addicted to Drama?
One of my closest friends is this way - my DH told her once that if it wasn't for drama in her life, she woudn't be happy (you can imagine how that one went over). It's very annoying at times, especially bc she doesn't listen to anyone's advice, which could probably prevented the drama in the first place....but I have learned to just deal with it, and let it go in one ear and out the other. At the end of the day, she is a good friend to me, and that is all that matters.

That's what I have to learn to do. She is a great friend. She's someone that would drop what she was doing to pick you up if your car broke down.
At the same time it's so painful to listen to her because you always know the outcome. I've stopped giving advice because I know it just goes out one ear and out the other. And I hate to see her get hurt over and over again, but I think that's what she thrives on.

Re: Anyone else have friends that are addicted to Drama?
my sister!!! i love her, and we've finally become really close, but it involves me biting my tongue ALOT because drama is seriously what keeps her blood circulating she's only 17 though... i'm hoping she grows out of it, but i'm not sure i can see that happening.

This is exactly what I have learned to do - it took a while, but I did it and now I can't get frustrated when she doesn't take my advice bc I won't give her any!
