Anyone else have the New Native baby sling?
I got one over the weekend - its really cool, but I have a few questions for those who have it:
What position do you carry your baby in it? At 3 months, Cailen hates the cradle position - he likes to sit up... He actually prefers the straddling position where he's on my hip, but its hard for him to hold himself up...
I also feel like he is so far away from me when he's in the sling - and I'm afraid he will fall out - can you baby wearers assure me that he wont please?
also - how long did it take for your DC to get used to the sling - I feel like he likes it right away, but then gets tired of it several minutes later and wants to be held for real...
Please share your thoughts on this sling

I think he is a little small for the hip hold.
Have you tried the kangaroo hold? Put on your sling with the pouch in front of your belly. The bottom should be just below your belly button. Place him in front of you facing outward. Cross his legs "indian syle." Place him in the sling. Voila. Steven LOVES this position. It looks really funny and he looks like 1/2 a baby, but whatever. he likes it.
I don't have this sling, but most are the same and you can do the same holds.

Actually, I just looked up your sling and they DO give the kangaroo hold.

I was looking at the website too - and great minds think alike - I was JUST thinking that Cailen may like that hold a lot...
Yes - he is too small for the hip hold, but he LOOOVED it, so I did it for a few minutes, but I was a nervous wreck the whole time!
