Anyone else losing half a pound a week only?

For 4 weeks straight i've lost 1/2 a pound.

This is with eating 29 points every day, working out 5 times/week (I run and take 2 classes and sometimes elliptical).

I think i have a great balance in what i eat. Egg white omelets or oatmeal for breakfast...lean turkey on a bagel flat for lunch or a cup of lentil soup with a chobani yogurt..grilled chicken salad for dinner OR a lean meat (chicken, pork chop or cup of chili) with steamed veggies etc...

Snacks are usually fruit, a serving of baked potato chips, weight watchers or special K bar etc...and dessert is a WW ice cream bar OR i'll have 3 small cookies and a cup of tea...

I've done WW years ago and lost much much faster. Granted i am lower in weight than back then...I have about 10 to my goal.

I have lost about 6 in 6 weeks. Which is ok. BUT the first week i lost 3.5 and the rest have been very small losses..sigh

Just getting frustrated. Any ideas as to how i can see a better loss??? Any diet exchanges you can suggest?

OH-and i do eat my extra points usually on saturday..we order in or go out and i have a great dinner and some drinks and dessert...but i have so many banked activity points as well i don't think i'm going over by much

I thought you weren't suppose to bank activity points? I thought you had to use them the day you got them? Is this something new with the new plan?

Now, this is with the old plan, but I always found that I lost more weight when I mixed up the points every week. Meaning, I might eat exactly the amount of points I'm suppose to use (not incl activity points) for 2-3 days then eat a lot more on one day, then back to eating my daily point amount then back to eating a lot more, etc. I hardly lost any weight when I ate about the same amount everyday. I HAD to mix it up. Also, when I exercised I ALWAYS used those points the same day. Chat Icon

I am losing at about the same pace as you, and I am a little frustrated about it. I'd lost weight at a much faster pace on the old plan.

So, I have no advice, but I can definitely relate. I just keep trying to remind myself that a loss is a loss, no matter how small it may be and that slow and steady wins the race!

They must carry over because when i go online to enter them, they stay there the whole week...maybe i am wrong though! That wouldn't be good, lol!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with losing half a pound a week. I know it frustrates you but instead of looking it as "ONLY" losing 1/2 a lb- look at it as LOSING HALF A POUND (yay!). It's an accomplishment.

I lost 60lbs...most weeks I lost less than a pound a week. It took a long time, but it adds up. Its better to lose the weight slowly- there's more of a chance you'll keep it off.

Re: Anyone else losing half a pound a week only?

I'm sorry to do this, but THIS is my biggest pet peeve. You're ONLY down 6 pounds????? Why ONLY? What if you ONLY GAINED six pounds? Would you put the same emphasis on it or would that six pounds suddenly seem so much bigger because it was a gain?

Did you know that that pound is the equivalent of 4 STICKS OF BUTTER???? So your six pounds is the equivalent of 24 sticks of butter!!!!!! Or that if you ONLY lost a 1/2 pound every week for a year that's 26 pounds??????

One pound a week is actually WW recommended rate of loss. One pound a week is PERFECT.

Sorry for my rant, it's my one rule in my meetings. My members are not allowed to use the terms ONLY and LOST in the same sentence.

Oh, and for the record, I'm saying this in a supportive WW leader way, not saying it to be mean Chat Icon

Ok now that my rant is over, lol.............

Check a few things:

Are you positive you're counting points plus values correctly? You're not combining features of PP with features of Momentum right?

Are you weighing and measuring your foods?

Are you getting in your good health guidelines?

Are you eating all of your daily PP target each day?

Are you counting your activity PP values accurately?

My final solution if you're really not satisfied would be to bring your tracker to your leader and have her take a look at it.

Activity PointsPlus values can be held for the week.

Re: Anyone else losing half a pound a week only?

I'm with you in losing at a slower pace but I know that if I was able to step up my excercise, I would drop faster (I honestly have no time). With that said, I do get fustrated from time to time but I keep telling myself that at least I am losing...I am down a total of 8lbs in 9 weeks & back to my pre-preggo weight of my first DS. I still have a ways to go but know in time will get there.

Keep your head up & know you are doing what you can & that a pound or even 1/2 a pound is still a good thing!

I hear ya! LOL!

I don't think six is bad...I wrote that it was ok. I really am ok with being down 6.

It's that i am working VERY hard. Very very hard. I've done the plan before...I lost about 45 pounds in the past and kept it off for years.

I need to lose 9 to reach my first goal weight. Ultimately i have 14 to lose, but would be thrilled with 9.

Honestly i am doing everything right.

I weigh everything, portion everything. Get in all my points. I may not eat every single food group recommendation in every day, but i try. I'm very healthy.

What i'm thinking is that i did it on my own for months prior to joining. I lost about 10 on my own before joining and going to meetings. So it's not like i joined and started out of nowhere like i did in the past...which prob resulted in the fast losses..now i am just eating a bit better and working out a lot, and closer to my goal...which is why the losses are small.

But i'll take it. You're right, better than gaining. I would just love to see a pound a week with how hard i work. But if i keep up a 1/2 pound a week, by the summer i'll be where i want!

I understand your point, however, the PP plan from everything I have seen is slowing things down considerably. I use ONLY and LOSE in the same sentence ALL the time because when I rejoined WW in October 2010 I was able to lose @ 12 pounds before the points plus program was implemented. Since then, I've ONLY LOST @ 3 pounds TOTAL (and 2.2 of those came on a week I had the stomach flu). IT IS FRUSTRATING and COMPLETELY DISHEARTENING.

My leader has looked at my tracker, I've made adjustments, and if the scale this week shows the same .4 lbs that it's been showing me for the last 12 weeks, that's it, I'm done. I will stop paying my $40 a month, and go back to Momentum all on my own.

It's still a loss!! I know it's aggravating because we want the instant gratification of working hard, but congrats on your loss thus far!!

Maureen - I know that with me, the last pounds that I need to lose are the absolute hardest. I have been battling these last 8 lbs for what seems like forever (I am just now back on track since I took a break for awhile)

Try to do an exercise to shock your body. I just started doing Insanity last week, and that mixed with Weight Watchers and some Zumba seems to be giving me nice results.

I'd suggest switching up the exercise. This happened to me when I was doing the same dvd every single day. Once I started with more variety it had helped.
