anyone else not have either parent?

just wondering if anyone else has lost both parents? i lost mine when i was 20...... and sometimes i feel i am the only one without either parent.... i miss them both or at least the idea of having parents...... its been so long without eiter of them that its kinda surreal.

i think the holidays make me think about this even more ......

Your not alone, I lost my Dad 11 years ago & My Mom almost 3 years ago. I know just how you feel, not a day goes by that I don't think about them. Sometimes it's really hard to deal with, but what helps me get through it all. Is knowing that wherever I go I carry them with me.

In away your parents are still with you and they're watching
over you. I know how hard it is during the Holidays, the Holidays are not the same for me anymore...

I lost my dad 11 years ago but my mom is still with us.

Yep. Me. I'm in the same boat as you. I remember you from LIF. I lost my parents 21 years ago at age 20 (3 mo. apart). Time makes it easier to deal with, but the pain and sadness never goes away.

You are not alone, I lost my Mom in 1994 and my Dad in 2001. I feel the same way. I also feel jipped. If u ever need to talk feel free to FM mail me. Sometimes my friends do not realize how hard it is becuase they can still turn to there parents.After all of this It hurts so much not to have them. I anymore. I gringe thinking of what it is going to be like to have a child and not have my parents to help me those first few weeks. ( My MIL passed suddenly 4 yrs ago). Maybe that is why I am currently TTC but not giving it my all, I want a child, but am enjoying traveling etc becuase I never got to do that when they were so sick.... if u get my drift....The holidays are hard on me too. I am having my first holiday gathering at my home and it hurt while I was decorating before w/my best friend and not my Mom, putting out holiday heirlooms and not having my parents to share this w/ me and being there on that day. I can go on and on- really, if u need to talk FM mail me, that is for anyone who answered this thread in the same situation as me.

I'm parentless too! My mom left my dad and I when I was young and I have not heard from her since..and my wonderful father passed away in 2000 from a sudden stroke leaving me with no parents or siblings. I miss having a dad every single day and wonder what it would be like to have an adult relationship with a parent. I do know how this feels...it's just not fair!!

My DH is not close with his parents...there is a lot of tension and years of hurt and anger on both sides that it's really just us!

thank god I still have my mom, but I did loose my dad in 2003

lots of for you always and especially during the holiday season. I cannt even begin to imagine the holidays without my mom

Lost both of my parents in 2002/2003... 6 months apart. It is terrible and it does feel lonely like I am the only person my age to not have both of their parents. It stinks!

I still have my Mom but I lost my Dad in 2006 in a motorcylce accident. The holidays are the worst and this year I really feel it bc I have the kids first Christmas and he isnt here to see them. I know he is looking over them but it still hurts. Try to have a good Christmas and Happy New Year....

You aren't alone but I know how you feel. I am in the same boat as well. I lost my mom when I was 19 and my dad about 5 yrs ago. I miss them so much and it really upsets me a lot around the holidays. I don't have much of a family left, just an older sister that I am not that close to.

I always feel like I am the only one without parents also ! It's so hard isn't it !

having so many panic attacks this month..... i am sooo irriated they are coming back..... it feels like it never ends!!! grrr

Losing a parent is the hardest thing I have ever experienced! I lost my dad..it will be 5 yrs next month. My life has not been the same since he passed and I don't think it ever will.
I can't imagine for those who have lost both
