Anyone else notice Sesame Street taking a backseat to the other kids shows now?
My kids have zero interest in Sesame Street. I bought the anniversary 40 years of Sesame Street DVD, I thought it was cool because it had episodes form when I was young. They want nothing to do with it and walk away or demand the obnoxious shows like Yo Gabba, Gabba

Ale wants nothing to do with it either. She got the 40th Edition for Christmas and hasn't wated to watch any of it.
I LOVED that show growing up!

I love Sesame Street...and DS does ask for it sometimes.
We fall victim to keeping one channel on for the morning (Disney) and then one when he wakes up in the afternoon (Nick Jr)

I have noticed this.
I actually stopped putting on Nick Jr and just started putting on old Disney movies, Follow That Bird (the sesame street movie), etc. I have all the old tapes from when I was little.
The kids now LOVE these shows. We have been watching Dumbo, Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp, Oliver and Company, Lilo and Stitch, Winnie the Pooh (the older movie).. and they are really into them. What's funny is that DH never saw any older DIsney movies before this so he is discovering them along with the kids.
I was thinking of getting that Sesame Street DVD collection. That is such a great show and *I* really enjoy watching it too!

We actually really wanted him to like it so we really only exposed him to PBS until he was 2. It worked and I feel like he's learned so much from it

DS really likes it, but the times they air it now don't work for us, so he has not really watched it since the summer. If it was on at 8, he would probably watch it still.

Same here. Sesame is really the only thing I "let" her watch. yo Gabba Gabba has snuck in there as well, but Sesame is most definitely still a heavy hitter round these parts.

Totally! She's into Backyardigans, Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse. When she does want SS, I have to fast forward to Elmo's World.
