Anyone else on progesterone?
So this month I just started on progesterone. I chose to do the shot everyday because the crinone and the other one were like $600 for 1 month and I have a high deductible plan and would have to pay that and the shot was significantly cheaper. So I started the shot and it hurts A LOT! I have bruises all over from it. Does anyone else have this? I'm thinking of switching if I'm pregnant to the crinone but does anyone know if the company has coupons or anything?

I did pio with my first pregnancy bc that was an Ivf pregnancy. The shots suck, no question. Try rubbing the oil in between the palm of your hands first to warm up the oil. It helps it disperse better. Alternate sides and spots. Massage the area after the shot. Don't just sit down or lie down. Move around so it spreads out and doesn't become a lump, which it still kind of will. It's worth it.
Try posting in the infertility board. Almost all those girls have done it and can give advice.

Yes I also suggest warming the oil and using a heating pad. I would actually numb the spot with ice and then let DH rub it immediately after and then lay on the heat pack for a while. It sucks but I did prefer that because it actually raised my progesterone level more than the Endometrin.

I did PIO for my FET cycle and should have stopped 2 weeks ago but didn't I'm still on it and will be 13 weeks tomorrow. I switched to Crinone briefly at 5 weeks but had a bleed so I switched right back to PIO. Ass is sore but afraid to stop it.

I was on PIO shots for about 3 weeks after my IVF and had to do them intramuscularly due to my BMI. I actually didn't find them to be too bad (except for the 1-2 times that DH hit a nerve when the needle went in), but I think I have a decent tolerance level for pain. The shot was always given in my top butt area. It helps when PIO is warm -- goes in smoother and less "lumpy". About 20 minutes before DH gave the shot, I would put the PIO vial in my bra to warm it up before I drew it up into the needle. Some people ice the area to numb it before the shot and say that helps. The trick is for the person giving it to you not to hesitate. They need to hold the needle like a dart and just go right in with it. Good luck!
