Anyone else read Women, Food and God by Geneen Roth?

Just finished this book last week and it was definitely eye opening. If you have food issues I definitely recommend it. I am trying to incorporate her 7 guidelines for eating into my life. It is supposed to help you use food as fuel and not as a drug. Here they are:

Geneen Roth's Eating Guidelines

1. Eat when you are hungry. (Truly hungry, body hungry not mind hungry)

2. Eat sitting down in a calm environment. This does not include the car.

3.Eat without distractions. Distractions include radio, television, newspaper, books, intense or anxiety producing conversation and music.

4. Eat only what your body wants. (Big difference from what your MIND wants!)

5. Eat until you are satisfied. (This is different than full).

6. Eat (with the intention of being) in full view of others.

7. Eat with enjoyment, gusto and pleasure.

I look forward to hearing some other reviews and thoughts on this book.

I saw her on Oprah talking about the book & it looks like an interesting read that covers alot of women's issues with food...hope to read it one day!

Just started reading it yesterday.
So upset I missed the Oprah episode that she was on. Definitely catching the one in July when she's on again.

My aunts reading this and she said its AWESOME! I'm gonna borrow it after she's done...i can't wait I've heard really great things. They were talking about this book at my WW meeting last week too

I read Geneen Roth in college and it really helped me with my eating disorder... to the point where in my 20's, I completely conquered it!!!
