Anyone else SUPER emotional as your baby turned 1?
My DD is 1 today (yay!) and I am crying at the drop of a hat! I keep remembering exactly where we were at this time last year and marveling at what she is now. I am also feeling sad that I dont have a little baby anymore..she is truly a toddler..wants to walk and crawl and doesnt want Mommy to cuddle her anymore! I am so proud of my little one year old but I want my baby too!
Please tell me I am not the only freak who is so emotional over this birthday!

I was! I was excited and happy but I kept tearing up all day. It really was bittersweet. You look back and you can't believe that a whole year already passed and your baby is already not a baby anymore. It all goes too fast.

DS turned 1 last week and I kind of hated most of the first year.  I love that he runs around, gets his own snacks, lets me know what he wants or can get it himself...I don't know, but I celebrated his new independence and ability to start to take care of himself.
ETA: Happy birthday to your DD! 
And it looks like I am the only freak who did NOT get super emotional when DS turned 1.

First off, Happy Birthday to your little  !
DS turned one yesterday, and I was with him all day. Basically thinking back at how small he was last year, and how the day went. It was an emotional day for me too.
It's so weird how that first year flew, and all the changes that happened.

And yes, I am in the same boat. We are actually doing DS's cake smash shoot today, and I know I am going to tear up. The idea that in less than a month he will be 1 just kills me. This year has flown by...

I was definitely emotional at moments...when I put her to bed the night before...and then when we were singing Happy Birthday to her. This wouldn't have happened if she didn't wake up at 10pm...but it turned out she was awake at the very moment she was born (10:50pm) so I whispered to her, telling her about the night she was born. Then I was a REAL mess

Maybe I'm the odd one out!! But I guess it's still early in the day!!
I do keep reminding DH everything that happened at every second (starting last night at 11PM when I told him I'd wake him up in 2.5 hours when my water broke )

I was very emotional as DD's 1st birthday approached.
However, I find myself even more emotional now. She's 17 months tomorrow and I cannot get over the "little girl" she is now as opposed to the baby that she was. Watching her be so independant, it amazes me every single moment.
I guess it doesn't help that I'm 8 months pregnant and super hormonal too!

Me me me! I got super emotional when dd turned 11 months a few days ago, just because I knew that 1 was approaching. I not normally an overly emotional person, but I just kept thinking this is the last monthly "birthday" before shes officially 1 yr old... Now that the weather is getting warmer and its getting closer to the time I had her last year I keep picturing everything like it was "last year at this time" Its so emotional, but so wonderful at the same time!!!

DD doesn't turn 1 till August 14th but I am emotional about it already! She is walking now and I look at her like where did my little baby go!!! It makes me tear up
