Re: anyone else take a self-imposed SNOW DAY???

yup,

i just caved and took a vacation day.... one more unpaid day in May when i go out on Maternity leave

dh offered to drive me, but that would still require me walking in it, and last time we had snow people were falling outside my office, plus they may close early and id have to wait around for dh then

same here, stayed home. I have a 10-15 miinute walk which on a regular day is nothing but last time it snowed it wasn't that much and I had a hard time; just lifting my legs to walk in it was a big effort, plus the risk of falling is there too.

my boss is so sweet - the office is open, but he told me to stay home and not risk the drive (30 mins on a clear day) because I'm preggo! The local employees (5 min drive, no highways) went in.

Re: anyone else take a self-imposed SNOW DAY???

I did. I feel really guilty about it since I was off last Monday because I was sick. I take the LIRR so I probably could have gone but it was getting to the station that had me worried...and coming home again tonight when it's all ice. oh well.
I heard on the news about a pregnant woman in boston who died when her car spun out last night and that made my decision.

I didn't have to but if my school wasn't closed I would have. I don't take risks with the precious cargo in my belly. At 35 weeks, it's not worth risking the fender bender or worse.
