Anyone else test + for strep B?
of course i had to go online and look up what it means and i am freaking out, please reassure me its not a big deal

I think they will just give drugs for that at delivery so you don't pass it to the baby.

yes, they will give you a drug that the baby can not get it.
Don't worry!!! You and the baby will be fine, my dr. said there are alot of women who have this out there.

Not a big deal at all. I had it with my 1st pregnancy. the only thing that stunk was as soon as my water broke - i had to go straight to the hospital to get hooked up to IV antibiotics and since I wasn't dilated yet - I had to start on pitocin pretty early to get things moving along. My son was prefectly healthy. I haven't been tested yet this pregnancy - I think in a few more weeks.

I did, no big deal, they just gave me IV antibiotics in the hospital
Honestly, the IV medicine hurt like a b!tch going it....the iv was in my hand and when they gave me the antibiotics, it stung so bad, all the way up my arm....ouch

It is very, very common. I am positive for strep B and was when I delivered my DD. They just hooked me up to an IV antibiotic when I got the hospital. I could still walk around and such. She turned two in March, so I guess she was ok!

I don't know my results of the Strep B test yet (probably will hear at my appt. tomorrow), but I already know I have to be on antibiotics during labor b/c of a medical condition I have. Now I'm nervous since someone said the IV hurts with the antibiotics-- I've never even had an IV before

i tested + last week and i know it's no big deal but it's a bummer to me especially if it hurts!  i guess there are going to be a lot of things that hurt though during labor!

Heck yeah it burns!!! My water broke a month early so I hadn't even had my strep b test yet so they gave me antibiotics as a precaution. A cold pack defininately help with the pain in my arm.

Yes, I hade it with DD. Don't worry they will give you antibiotics in the hospital when you get there, so you dont pass it to the baby. You will be fine!

I tested + for this as well - they just give you antibiotics when they admit you and then every 4 hours until you deliver..dont stress out about it, its very common..hth
