anyone else's days seem off from what you thought?
I am 8 weeks today from my last period. I went last week and my friend scanned me(external exam.) I thought I was 6w4d and I scanned 6w2d. Then today I had an internal at my Dr.s and she said I was 7 weeks. But I also realized after I left that she had the date of my last period off by a week, so maybe that's why she thought/said 7 weeks.
So do you think the Dr. made a little mistake, or is is possible that my baby is only measuring 7 weeks, even though it measured 6w2d a whole 10 days ago? It would make me nervous to think there was only five days progress in a 10 day span.

Ok, I just spoke to my MIL and she told me that her brother and his wife are also pregnant. She is 6 weeks along and the Dr. gave her and EDD of October 18. ***?! I'm 8 weeks (or 7 according to the DR.) and she gace me and EDD of October 27. I'm so confused!?!?

They actually start counting from the first day of your last period. So, when they do a sono and say you are 8 weeks, that is really only 6 weeks from when you should have conceived. I know it is hard to understand, but since there is no real way to know exactly what day you conceived, they just use your last period as the "beginning" of your pregnancy.
I had a hard time too understanding and figuring out my dates, and I thought the doctor was off by a few days. I had to just resign myself to accepting their date, as that is what they will be using to base all of their decisions. Just remember too, that your "due date" is just an estimate, based on 40 weeks from the date of your last period. I believe what they actually do is take the date of your last period, count back 3 months, then add 7 days to get your expected delivery date.
