Anyone else's DH just not "get it"??? (vent)
Okay, so I've had very little to complain about during this pregnancy. DH has been mostly good and attended classes with me, etc.
But between his surgery (which he obviously couldn't help) and his work schedule (which was also out of his control) I have spent the last few months taking care of HIM.
Now that I'm in the home stretch and things have calmed for him, I'm just looking for HIM to take care of ME!
And I swear to god if he asks me WHY I'm tired or WHY I'm not feeling great ONE MORE TIME I'm going to kick him in the nuts.
I'm 37 weeks pregnant. I don't sleep through the night, everything is uncomfortable and everytime I need to do anything that originates below the knees it turns into a major production.
So YES, it is a big deal when you don't come home from work until 10:00 and I need to do everything in the house. (Oh and the fact that you don't call to let me know you are going to be late doesn't help things.)
So YES, it is a big deal that you asked me why I didn't bring the laundry up the two flights of stairs from the flooded basement.
WHY OH WHY DOESN'T HE GET IT???

I saw a piece in the news the other day how one car maker is listening to women, especially pregnant women when making new cars. They strap on a 35lb of a "baby" and big boobs to the Men and make them walk around in and out of the cars w/ this. I SOOOO want to get one of those for my husband!!! We can pass it around so they know WHY.
You'll be holding your baby real soon!!!

Explanation: He's a man!
My dh is sweet & acts concerned but when it comes down to it, he doesn't really know how I feel & can't relate to me feeling extra tired

Re: Anyone else's DH just not "get it"??? (vent)
Just yesterday I was telling DH I don't know how women commute during their pregnancy -- I am fortunate enough to work from home, and to get out of bed when I feel like it. The funny thing is, he agreed with me -- how amazing these women are.
So I am sorry if DH is not being sensitive -- I don't understand how he CAN'T be with all you've been through!! -- but know that MY DH admires you!!
I think I would just get home from work and nap.....

AND this is all their fault too, right?
My DH is pretty good in the regard that he helps when he needs to.
BUT I am on pelvic rest and he even though he KNOWS that there is a reason I am not putting out, he still makes me feel like I am holding out on him. MEN!!!

I totally feel like strapping one of those on him!!
I feel like he think's I'm exaggerating sometimes. Like it's not that bad.
And it isn't, if I can rest. But when I'm the only one doing anything, I can't rest and then things are painful for me.
When just getting up off the couch is a 5 minute struggle, everything is difficult!!

Yeah and the best is when they see you struggling like that and STILL want you to get them a beer

I will say, my DH is pretty amazing in that he'll help and he does the dishes every night. If I'm to tired to cook, he'll fend for himself... BUT.... he does question why I'm so tired? Um... let me think?? OH, right, I have a human being growing inside of me!!!!!

Re: Anyone else's DH just not "get it"??? (vent)
my 'go to' answer for any of these questions is. . .
because he's a guy!
my DH burned his hand on a frying pan the other day and omg if I havent had to hear about it every day since! I know your hand hurts - but you burned it (and its a very very slight burn) over a week ago - I dont need to see the scar again!
my DH is great - but he's such a baby and if he had to have 30 extra pounds of abdomen to carry around, he'd be unable to do anything. we're just so much stronger than they are.
