Anyone Else's DH Think 3D/4D Sonograms Are Freaky?

My DH and I were discussing having a 3D/4D sono done at Impact. At first DH was "all aboard". Then I showed him pictures...

He freaked out. He said the images scared him!!!

I was like OMG! I said they were beautiful and amazing and he said if I really wanted to go, we could do it but that he would feel very uncomfortable with it.

This is not medically necessary and I'm kind of like 70-30 of wanting to do this, but if it makes him feel that uncomfortable, I surely don't want to force him. I guess I could go without him and just take the moms with me, but I really would prefer to have him there!

Anyone encounter this??

Not with DH but that is how I feel about them.

Dh and I both are a little freaked by them. I wanted to be surprised when I saw his face anyway

I've always wanted to do it but DH wasn't completely aboard - more so b/c he didn't think it was worth the extra $$. BUT, when I went for my fetal echocardiogram they gave us a glimpse and he enjoyed it. (Pics in my album). I think it depends what stage your at - some sonos look more like babies than others. I know when my SIL had it done at 20 wks or so, she was disappointed saying the baby looked a little scary.

I just came back from a growth sono & the tech asked us if we wanted to see some 3D pix- she said a lot of people are weirded out by them.

I'm a little weirded out by them. I know this may sound strange, but sometimes it's too much for me to handle knowing that there is an actual person living inside of me. It makes everything way too real.

I even get a little freaked out when he kicks too hard or I can picture what he is doing inside my belly.

my DH is excited about it ~ he has a friend that just did it and showed him pics (usually he is a stickler for spending $$ so i am surprised that he is all for it) maybe it will be different when he sees your baby!

I have never thought they were "freaky" but I don't personally want one. Unless it is medically necessary, what is the point? I want to see my baby's face for the first time when it is born.

Honestly I think the 3D sonograms are very freaky. When I was pregnant at one of our sonograms the technician used the 3D to check something out more closely. She gave me some pictures and I thought they looked weird. My mom is totally freaked out by them and barely looked at them. I would never pay money to have a 3D sonogram that wasn't medically necessary, though I know many people love them.

They were a little freaky, but we wanted to do it because the sono we had at 20 weeks they couldn't tell the gender and the sono we had at 22 weeks, the tech guessed girl but wasn't sure. My DH really wanted to find out what we were having so we did the 3D/4D at Impact. My sister said she couldn't look at them because they were too weird.

I had a 3d sono at 27 weeks and it was AMAZING, IMHO, it is not freaky or gross at all. I enjoyed every second of it as did my family who got to sit in the room and experience that with me. It was priceless.
