Anyone ever break their toe?
I cracked my toe on the corner of my oven and man, I saw stars. After I wiped the tears out of my eyes, I watched my toe blow up. It turned purple and was very swollen. I can bend my toe but it's very sore. Do you think it's broken or just badly bruised?

Sounds like what mine looked like when I broke it! I had X-rays done, it was broken, they wrapped it, that was it. They can't do much for a broken toe. Stay off it for a few days, ice a lot, and wrap it. Feel better!

yes 2 weeks before my wedding, plus othe times! hope it feels better. do a buddy tape. that's when you tape it to the toe next to it.
ets: you can get it looked at just to make sure, but that is what they would do for it. unless it was a bad break and not a clean one, then you might need a orthopetic. which i would not worry about. keep ice on it for 15 min and then again in about 2 hours again with the ice!

I hope you feel better soon. I broke my big toe on my right foot at least 3 times as a kid. Absolutley nothing a dco will do for it.
I did wrap it tight against the other toes to keep it immobile though. It helped.

I did years ago. It's awful because there's really nothing you can do other than tape it and take motrin/tylenol. Try to stay off of it if you can (yeah right, with a 1 year old I'm sure thats easy).

I did when I was a kid-- there is nothing you can do for it except enjoy all the different shades of purple.

Yup I did when I was younger.. I broke three at a swim meet....and there is not a thing in the world you can do about it... I think the doctor had me soak it in epson salt and warm water.

Several months ago I was running barefoot up the stairs and cracked my toe under. It hurt then was ok for a few days until I went to a wedding and danced.
I had to go to the podiatrist because I was in so much pain. Turns out I had a bone chip. It hurt so bad though! I had to get a cortizone shot. I had to wear sneakers for a month.
ETA: Cortizone won't fix it but will help with the pain. You just have to stay off it.

my DH broke his pinky toe more than once. it sounds like yours is broken. unfortunately, there is nothing they can do about it

Yeah it hurst like a B***h. I went to the hospital cause it was so bad. All the did was tape it to the other one. But it hurts really bad. Watch cause everything i stup it i hurt like hell everything i do it and i feel it bend.

if it turned purple its broken. i banged my baby toe into boxes and i broke it. feel better
