We got our computer desk from it - not the best quality - but it isn't bad.

We got our entertainment center from them... It's huge - took all day to put it all together, but we love it. We couldn't afford "real" furniture and were dying to get our 42" LCD HD TV up...so it worked out perfect.

Re: anyone ever get anything from Furn-a-kit stores?
We have an entertainment center, 2 end tables and a coffee table from there. I think it looks pretty decent and it was sooooooo much cheaper than "real" furniture. It took forever (and several fights) to put together though.

We also have our entertainment center from them. DH put it together. I just couldn't find anything else I really liked (color and size)

Be prepared to pick anything you get up at the warehouse, I think its in Ronkonkoma area.
We've purchased 3 or 4 things from there - they always say "Yes, we have it in stock!" So you buy it, and then they say 'OK, to go pick it up at the warehouse, take these directions'.

Re: anyone ever get anything from Furn-a-kit stores?
It's good enough for the price. We have several pieces from Furn-a-kit. My whole bedroom set is from there actually, and it's held up nicely. I've had it for 6-7 years, and it still looks new.
On the other hand, my sister bought dressers from there and her kids jam their clothes into the drawers, and the drawers literaly fell apart on her. The bottoms caved in and the handles fell off.
So I guess it all depends on how you plan on treating your furniture.
One bit of advice, if you have a power drill, it makes it easier to assemble the furniture. You can use a screwdriver, but it will take forever!!!

Yes, this is definitely true. They have showrooms around Long Island, but their only warehouse is in Ronkonkoma/Holbrook. There is a big showroom there too. Although the Copaigue showroom is closer to where I live, I usually just head to the one in Holbrook to save myself the trip.

A lot of our furniture is from there since we live in an apartment and didn't want to spend too much on good furniture. As long as you are careful with it, it holds up well!

We bought a dresser, chest, nightstand and armoire from them 7 years ago and it is still holding up really well. I was pleasantly surprised.

We've had stuff delivered. Some of the furniture we got there was really big so there was no way we would be able to get the boxes home. They deliver for a fee. Quality is decent and it does the trick.

It's good for the price...I actually have a bookshelf from them that I bought over 12 years ago and it's been moved four times...I need a new one, but it is still kicking. They sell all brandname stuff like Sauder.

I got a desk/office center there and WOULD NEVER BUY from them again - the old saying, you get what you pay for is very true. I would rather have spent a little more $ and gotten something that was better quality.

Same here!!!
Ours actually looks like a builtin because it fit perfectly between the kitchen wall & the door to the apartment!
Ok............really it fit well AFTER DH had to cut the crown molding flat on both the left & right sides

We got an entertainment center and china cabinet from them. We love both pieces (we looked FOREVER before we decided to try there). I would definitely use them again.

We got a big storage cabinet from there that we used in our apartment. It was sturdy and lasted the move. Now we have it in our basement.

The problem is 'real furniture' is not just a LITTLE more, it's a LOT more.
We were looking at real wood entertainment centers - cheapest we could find was 600 dollars. At Furn-a-kit, we got one for 200.00, and had many more choices then at a 'regular' furniture store.

Re: anyone ever get anything from Furn-a-kit stores?
I have a large computer armoire & a TV armoire that I bought ten years ago & they are both still around. They've been moved from one house to another & from room to room. At the time I bought them I was a single Mom w/no money & $450 for 2 pieces of huge furniture that matched my home was a great buy. I good friend of mine at the time that had a much bigger budget than me walked in when I first got them & said "oh, drexel heritage" I said "nope FURNAKIT..$450 for both" the bottom line is if you don't have money for "real furniture" & you don't want to use milk crates its a great way to go.

We got our entertainment unit there. It was a b*tch to put together, but it looks great, even after 3 years.
