Anyone ever get out of their cell phone contract?

I really hate my current cell phone provider and naively re-upped less than 6 months ago and now want to change providers. Anyone ever get out of their contract without paying the termination fee?

I paid a lower fee, but I had to fight for it. Plus I was something like 6 months away from the end of a 2 year contract or something. It was with verizon. I had no service anywhere and I had to stand outside in the middle of the street with my left foot in the air with tin foil in my right hand to get service. They told me that they could not guarantee that I would get service inside of any building, which just sounded funny. So I faught and got the fee cut in half. How long do you have left? Unfortunately, I have never known them to waive the fee completely unless they break the contract somehow. Can you just deal w/ it for now?

nope! had to pay Sprint an early termination fee to join Verizon. it was worth every PENNY!!!!!!!!
