Re: anyone ever have a DVT?
I had a DVT and a massive bilateral PE.
My clottiversary is December 25th, so I'm about 11 months out.
I didn't have much swelling to begin with. My clot was left calf, with minimal swelling in my left thigh.
Almost a year out, I do still have leg pain. About every other month for about a week or two I will have leg pain. Not the tight charlie horse that I had pre-DVT, but I'll have a little pain, tingling.
Leg pain post DVT is a classic symptom of PTS (Post Thrombotic Syndrome.). Google it, or check out clotconnect.org, or stoptheclot.org. Both are good resources.
If I could do anything different, besides not taking the pill to get the clots in the first place - I would have worn a compression stocking. I've read some studies that people that wear a compression stocking the first year or two after diagnosis have a lower rate of PTS. I asked my Dr in the beginning about it, and he said no. Now that I'm having PTS symptoms, he said "Oh, maybe wearing a stocking would have helped." Thanks a lot, azz.
Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.

Forgot to add....
Here is a great DVT support group
The people on the DVT and PE board helped me thru many difficult times. They've been thru it and they understand, when there are many who do not.

Re: anyone ever have a DVT?
Gina I am about a month out and still have mild pain and swelling. It takes a bit for it to go away. The pain goes away with the swelling. The pain is because of the swelling.
The drs told me it will take a bit but as long as it is getting less and less then I am getting better.
