Re: Anyone ever make Pot Roast in a Crock Pot?
Yes! I just made one 2 weeks ago and it came out SO good. I have a 6 qt slow cooker and made a 3 pound pot roast. I put the roast in the bottom, added sliced carrots around the roast close to the bottom and then added cubed potatoes and yellow onions around. I cooked it in beef broth and some spices on low for 10 hours. If you want the whole recipe, let me know. It was by far the BEST recipe I've made in my slow cooker. And you can uses the juices to make gravy. Yum!

Re: Anyone ever make Pot Roast in a Crock Pot?
we do this all the time in the winter! they come out AWESOME in the crock pot-- sooo tender, it just falls apart we usually just throw the roast in the crockpot ( don't brown it first)... we cut up some potatoes and carrots and an onion and throw all that on top of the meat... then we add some beef broth, water, and a little salt and pepper.... let it cook for 8 hours, and it comes out amazing!! we usually buy a larger roast and a few extra veggies, so that we can get 2 meals out of it... its good left over, too
ETA.. make it when you're not gonna be home, because the smell will make you hungry ALL day! LOL

I do them in the slow cooker all the time, I bung in all kinds of crap that I have in jars in the fridge, some onions, some carrots, a spoonful of Molasses, some soy sauce, whatever I gots in! Some red wine...whatever. I leave it in overnight on low. Then I put it in the fridge for another night, skim the fat off, slice it while its cold, then heat it up again!
My little boy loves it because its so tender! I cut it in big chunky slices for him! Yummers!!!

I made this the other night. It was delicious. I used the McCormick's slow cooker seasoning packet and threw in carrot and potatoes. The meat was so tender and delicious.
