Anyone ever organize a Class reunion???
I'm considering organizing a 10 year reunion for my HS class. It would be 2008 . We had 2 class presidents and I talked to one of them who has no interest in doing that and the other one has kind of fallen of the face of the earth and I cannot see her wanting to either. I asked around and there seems to be some interest at this point. What does it take to organize a reunion? Am I going to have to put my own money into this? Can anyone suggest a catering hall , preferably Suffolk County, south shore?
ps...anyone out there a member of the Sayville class of -98??

Re: Anyone ever organize a Class reunion???
My DH's was at the Hamlet Windwatch (he graduated from Islip). It was pretty pricey--I think $100 pp? but they had a good turnout. I don't think the planning involved much other than contacting everyone and collecting money.
ETA: My cousin was Sayville class of 97 or 98...Kristen F. (don't want to post last name)

thanks for your response! Yeah, I'm hoping not to ask people for quite that much. Hopefully between $50-$75 pp. Hmmm...I wonder who your cousin is?! I know a bunch of Kristen's from my class ,but I can't think of a Kristen F.

Re: Anyone ever organize a Class reunion???
Mine was in 1999 and it was $75 or $80/person with a cash bar.

Re: Anyone ever organize a Class reunion???
My DH organized our reunion...well, let's be real, I organized our reunion. We graduated together (Bayport 1995). We did it totally low key and followed the model of a couple of the previous classes. We held it at Merot/Cliche/The old Dublin Downs---I have no idea what it was then and I have no idea what it is not but I'm sure you know what I am referring to since you are from Sayville (oh, and you probably know my mom, she is a teacher at the high school!). So, it was maybe $30pp for open bar and appetizers. We didn't put any money in ourselves or up front, everyone just paid at the door. Everyone really liked it because there was no pressure and everyone got to hang out and catch up. Afterward a bunch of us went out to Sweet Magnolia/Blackbirds (again don't know which one it was at the time). Let me know if you have any questions
