Anyone file a claim on Macy's furniture protection plan?

Someone did a while back and it was good news - that they covered a repair or replaced a part completely. But I can't get any search results for it.

I finally found our pamplet on it and it covers rips and tears, which is what I have. But it was caused by my dog, and I don't know how specific they get with the cause of the damage and if they would decline me if they knew it was my dog's fault.

Anyone have any experience here that could give me some idea how it went for them? I'm trying to find my original receipt and I'm worried that it got lost somehow.

It was me! I've actually used it twice and they were great.

What did your dog do? Unless it was a bodily function, you should be ok.

Found my old post

Wow, you are QUICK! Chat Icon Thanks so much for answering!

We have a leather couch and while we were away this week in Florida, our dog Ginger got through a table and chairs we setup and chewed a hole in the corner of one back cushion. It zippers off, and she damaged the zipper a little too but it's not a horrible hole - a bit bigger than a quarter.

Did they ask you how the damage happened? What paperwork did you have to give them to prove you purchased it - or were they able to look you up?

So far, all I've found is the pamphlet and the handwritten preorder that we made for the couch. Chat Icon

Don't say it was a pet and say that it was done within the past 10 days!

What would you tell them? It's on the top corner of the back cushion, so I don't think saying it got snagged on clothing would be feasible. I could say my house-sitter's child did it while we were gone and we don't really know how it happened. Chat Icon

I don't remember them asking how the damage occurred so I wouldn't even mention it unless they do. Just say there was an accident and you have a hole in it. By looking at the pic I feel you can't tell a pet did it.

The first time, we had a tear in the leather cushions in the seam (pillow back was attached to the couch so we couldn't just replace the cushion). They didn't even send someone to look at it - they just sent me a new couch.

The second time, part of the wood frame broke and then sent a tech over to fix it.

Good Luck!

I would say that you were moving furniture and something swagged and got caught on the leather and that the piece of furniture fell on top of it causing all these little rip marks. And say it was done within the last 10 days! My mom just kicked herself in the @ss bc she said her damage happened a month ago...they denied her claim. And of course, don't say anything unless you're askedChat Icon Good luck!
