Anyone get a WaMu Bankruptcy notice?
My parents got a letter in the mail from a lawyer - something about filing a claim with WaMu? Did anyone else get this?
It really bothered me because I consider myself a pretty intelligent person and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT SAYS! My mother was crying all day because she thought my FATHER was filing for bankruptcy! I understand that lawyer mumbo jumbo is part of the trade but at least a COVER LETTER explaining what the heck it meant!
Anyway, do you know if we have to do anything? Are we supposed to be filing the claim?

We have a couple of credit cards that were originally with Providian (worst mistake of my life), then they were bought out from WAMU which only lasted a year, and now Chase has bought them out.  I didn't get anything about bankruptcy claim?

I also bank at WaMu and I didnt get one but my parents did - so strange. I will have to see if there is a number to call.
The return address is just a lawyer - you dont see it is from WaMu until you read the form to fill out for the "claim"

no but i got a over draft fee because i mistakely overdrawn my account by 1.49 cents now i have to pay 35$..and they didnt even want to help me.

I had the same thing!!
Though, I never had a problem. I took the Providian card out to transfer a balance and then it turned to Wamu... still only had the same balance on it. Now that it's Chase, and the balance is paid off, i'm canceling it.
