Anyone get their letter from the IRS to repay the $7,500 homebuyer tax credit from 2008?
The letter we got said we pay back $250/year for 15 years for a total of $3,750... I was surprised (and happy) b/c we thought we'd be paying back the entire $7,500! 
EDIT: The poster below made me realize the letter was only in my name so DH must be getting one soon so that'll mean we pay back the full amount split b/w the 2 of us.

We bought in 2008 and did not get that letter yesterday. I know we were supposed to start paying back $500 a year starting when we did our taxes at the beginning of next year. That would be awesome if it was less! What office did your letter come from?

Those that bought in 2008 were essentially given an interest free loan. It wasn't a rebate like those that purchased in 2009.

Because anyone buying in 2008 had the stipulation that we had to pay it back....only in 2009, the program to get a free $8000 tax rebate came out.

We got one only in DH's name. Our accountant said to expect one in my name as well. Then it would be the full amount. Although DH got his a few weeks ago and I still have yet to see one in my name.

We only got one in my name. This is what I was assuming as well
Oh mannnnnnn... DUH can't believe I didn't think of that. I guess we should be expecting DH's letter soon.
Sorry guys! Looks like we'll be paying back the full $500/year. Boooo.

Did you file married but separately that year? That's where the $3750 comes in.
