Anyone get their tax return put into their bank account this past Friday..?
We finsihed out taxes before the last cutoff...Feb 4th. Our refund was supposed to be in our account on Friday and it wasnt there! FIL is our accountant and has all of the confirmations that is was submitted, etc
BIL did his taxes 2 days after ours and his return was there! I checked the IRS website and it just says our return was received and we will recieve our refund on or before the 23rd, unless there are questions. We have every straight forward tax returns..
Arghh. I was counting on this money to pay off some billls this week....

Every now and again, even if you are before the last IRS cut-off, you might have a delay in your refund.
You're sure there wasn't an error with the bank account & routing number? Sometimes this can cause a delay and they have to mail you the check instead.
If that is not an issue, I would not fret and just have to wait until the date the IRS mentioned on the site.

Same thing happened to my Mom. We did it before the deadline.. but, after she did hers, we got it and she didn't. She is now told she is getting hers on the 23rd also.

I did ours through turbo tax the saturday before super bowl sunday and our refund was put in Friday. Turbo tax gave me a website to check on refund. I assume it will work even if you didnt use turbo tax....

I read that there was a problem with the making work pay credit and that is why many refunds r being delayed

Same thing here, originally it said we would receive it by the 16th, now it says the 23rd. I needed some of that refund to hit a bill deadline. I'm hoping it wil still come in a little early.

Check the irs website, I just checked today, it is now being deposited on the 19th, and they adjusted my return $500 in my favor!!!!!
If anyone knows why, please let me know. I'm guessing something to do with the stimulus?

Thanks! just checked and it says it is being dpeosited on the 19th!! woohoo!
Good for you getting the extra $500. Our refund amount is still the same. FIL is our accountant and gets us the best refund we can!

Probably the Making Work Pay credit
The Marking Work Pay Credit is usually $400 for single and up to $800 for married filing joint.
Depending on your income, if the Schedule M (the name of the form for this credit) was not done properly, then I would assume that the extra $500 is due to this credit...but in reality it could be due to a bunch of things. Sometimes simple math can be done wrong ...that's usually the #1 mistake on returns.
Glad you are getting a little extra.
