Anyone give the flu shots at the same appointment as the 1 year shots?
Really looking for pro-vaccine people's opinions only...
DD's one year appointment is Sept 13th and they told us she'll be getting four shots. The pediatrician has flu shots in... will they give that on top of the other four, or will I have to go back separately?
I guess I'm on the complete opposite end of the spectrum of people that try to separate shots as much as possible.. I kind of want to get them over and done with in one big swoop if it's safe...

I can't exactly remember but i think last year I did the flu shot seperately & she had to get 2 doses.
This year, her two year visit will be in Oct...and they told me to come a month before for the flu shot b/c they don't want to give it at the same time as the shots at her 2 year visit.

DS got his flu shot at his 1 year visit BUT, he only had one other shot scheduled at the time (our ped has the schedule broken up so they get 2 a visit and DS didn't need the chicken pox vaccine because he had the chicken pox the month before).

My ped did not mention the flu shot. You know I am 100% for shots BUT I would wait for the flu shot. Especially since she got the MMR at that visit which made her REALLY cranky and the flu shot makes ME achey - I would rather split it. But the MMR reaction is 7-10 days later so I would wait at least two weeks for the flushot.

Good point, i guess I never thought about the double-dose of achiness/crankiness, I thought the hesitation would solely be "I'm scared of giving too many shots at once" which you know I don't subscribe to I guess I'll give her a break and go back for an extra shot.
Poor thing, I hate watching her get her shots

I made a separate appointment for the flu shot.
I'm pro-vaccine, but I wanted to separate the flu shot from vaccines in case there were any reactions.
Also, the first year he got the flu vaccine, he had to go back for a booster shot couple of months later. This is standard. I had the 2nd shot given separately as well.

my dds must got it today at their 15 month appt, they got 2 other vaccines and the flu, my dr asked if i wanted to make a seperate appt for it, but with twins i felt im already here just give it to them
that said if your child is already getting 3 shots that day i might make a sep appt for it, that is alot in one day
