Anyone go to the grand opening of the Stop & Shop in Oceanside?
I have never seen a supermarket parking lot so full of cars on a friday morning! I finally got to use the "Scan It" feature and scan my groceries as I put them in the cart  I heard about it but was never near a Stop & Shop that had it. I think this has me sold- I never checked out so fast before! The food selection is good and there's a decent all natural/organic section. They also gave me a free loaf of bread on my way out this morning. I think this will become my regular supermarket!

Where??? I go all the way to S&S in Carle Place because I don't like the Freeport one and the one by the Sands is insane.

it is on atlantic avenue in oceanside between lawson's blvd and long beach road.
haven't been there yet. now i can't wait to go.

It's on 465 Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside. A few blocks from PC Richards. Also, they sent coupons in the mail. I received a $5 off $40 flyer a week ago announcing the opening of the new store. They also put a $5 off $50 coupon in their circular inside a pennysaver.

I am trying to figure out where this is?? I grew up near there, but don't live in the area anymore. Is it where the A&P used to be, just east of the old Camp De Baum?

They built it where Camp DeBaun used to be. If you go past the Pathmark, across the LIRR tracks, it falls on the right side a few blocks after PC Richards. The building is a bit different since they made it look residential by putting siding on it.

Nope.... a couple of blocks after pathmark on the other side.
I am so happy bc i HATE that Pathmark. I go to king kullen, but they are sooo expensive!

AH, the old Camp site. I used to live in ER and work in Oceanside, so I took that road many, many times.....
