Anyone going to the Madonna concert tonight?
I am and I am dreading it... it's hot enough outside! With no a/c in the Garden, it's going to feel like an oven.

try to have fun Hollie!! I love Madonna, but I think its so inconsiderate of her not to have the A/C on- especially when her fans have paid so much money to see her! Maybe she will have pity on everyone today

YES!! She has done it at all her concerts-
As you may have heard, Madonna is enforcing a no air-conditioning policy on the current tour -- meaning it was at least 80 degrees in the United Center.
The atmosphere was bearable but not particularly pleasant, odoriferously speaking. Madonna made it worse by making her fans wait more than an hour past the announced start time before she graced us with her presence. How tired is that routine -- the old late-arriving diva shtick?
Word is Madonna is protecting her sensitive vocal chords with the no air-conditioning rule -- but on Sunday she told the crowd, "I told them to keep the air conditioning turned off. We don't want to contribute to global warming, do we?"
FROM ANOTHER SOURCE
Yes, she switched off the air conditioning. Apparently, the cold air plays havoc with Madonna's vocal cords (stop smirking, please). Fans could either put up with the heat or go home. America is outraged. What was the Queen of Pop thinking? How could she do it? She must be stopped!
Here's what the Las Vegas Review Journal reported:
Madonna's concerns about air conditioning extended to her after-concert party Sunday at Tao, where management at The Venetian nightclub sealed numerous air vents with tape. Tao execs were told all she wanted "was the air conditioning turned off, the lights dimmed and a lot of candles.
Does Madonna realise that Las Vegas is in the desert? According to one fan at her Saturday night show, the MGM arena was "ridiculously hot". Madge, however, was in no mood for wimps. On Sunday, she singled out one young man in the front row, who was probably about to expire from the heat, and said: "If you're only going to sit there, at least you can smile". To which the man might have responded: "If you're only going to charge me $375 to watch a 47-year-old mum prancing around in a leotard, at least you can switch the bloody air conditioning on."

That is insanity...diva or not! When I went to See Tim McGraw and Faith Hill 3 weeks ago, I needed to buy a sweatshirt cause it was freezing in the Garden. Yuck! Try to enjoy it and hopefully the LIRR will have the a/c on so you can cool off on the ride home!

I honestly don't want to go. It's hot enough outside. Now imagine 30,000 sweaty people in the Garden with no a/c! DH is going but only because he feels bad. I hope it's worth it!

Re: Anyone going to the Madonna concert tonight?
I was dreading the "no a/c" also when I went to go see her, but suprisingly it wasnt that bad. It was cool enough when we were seated, and it progressively got hot. I'm going to say I started to feel the heat about 1/2 before the show ended. You'll be fine as long as you have a water or soda to keep you cool.

i would try to go to the garden to get my money back. nobody should have to be in the garden in 90 degree heat with no a.c.

Re: Anyone going to the Madonna concert tonight?
My sister and a bunch of our friends are going - I was going to go but when I heard the no ac thing I was like "I'm not paying that much money to pass out from heat exhaustion half way through the show" - Madonna isn't exactly a concert that you go to and sit down and watch - you want to get up and dance...I can't imagine doing that in this heat PLUS no ac inside the stadium....
