Anyone gonna go to Diddy's party?

Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs raps, he produces records, he acts on stage and in film, he owns the urban-fabulous Sean John clothing line, and he even ran a marathon. But in the Hamptons, he's best known for his annual summer "white party."

This year, think democratic. Not only is Diddy's party tonight happening at The Whitehouse, a nightclub in Hampton Bays, it is also, for the first time, open to the public -- as long as the public purchases a $40 ticket.

Since the late 1990s, Diddy's Hamptons white party has evolved from a having over a few friends -- Donna Karan (his neighbor), Donald Trump, and Jay-Z -- to starrier bashes, including Jennifer Lopez, Leonardo DiCaprio and Paris Hilton.

Diddy has in the past always insisted on an all-white dress code -- khaki did not make it.

At his white modernist manse, overlooking the water in East Hampton's Northwest Woods, the tents were white, and everyone wore white, to the point that some guests had to strip down to their underwear to gain entry.

At The Whitehouse -- the former Canoe Place Inn -- tonight, Diddy is said to be showing up with 25 well-known friends. While The Whitehouse isn't insisting on white, white clothes are nevertheless popular at the club and most people at the bash will be wearing white.

Past white parties at Diddy's house have seen trees covered with pin lights. He's hired flame swallowers. He's had a Tastee-Freez truck parked in the driveway near his powder-blue Bentley. Waiters have worn white while serving celebrity guests sitting in VIP tents. He's even had a giant white balloon floating over the yard with a light inside.

One year, Kelly Osbourne arrived in a Maybach limo with reclining seats and Bruce Willis once helicoptered into East Hampton Airport for the event and ended up skinny-dipping in Diddy's pool.

For sure, Diddy's guests can expect him to take the mike late and instruct fellow revelers to "shake their ... "

He's also known for partying until dawn.

Things to expect at The Whitehouse tonight include a mob out in front. Arrive by 9 p.m. if you want to get inside. And respect Diddy's brawny security detail. If they ask you to back off, they mean it.

Its funny...for years me and my friends had a house in Hampton Bays for the summer and we always used to joke that our invitation must have gotten lost in the mail!

And to think this year we could have gone!!
