Anyone good with hair? I need help
First off, I know nothing about hair and that is now being passed down to DD. She's 4 and a half and never had a haircut because it grows SO SLOWLY (like mine). When it's wet, it down to the middle of her back but when it dries, it curls up and looks frizzy/messy. Do I need to straighten her hair? She seems to so young to do this.

Re: Anyone good with hair? I need help
Maybe you can find a product to control the curl/frizz so she can wear it natural? I don't have suggestions on that but i am sure others here would

Don't straighten it. She's little; embrace the curls! Ouidad has a line for kids. I use the regular Oidad products on DD's hair. Sometimes I use the VITALCURL gel-cream. Sometimes I use the Climate Control gel. OGX makes an awesome curl cream (Kukui Oil Frizz Defying Curl Cream) and you can get it at most drug stores. You just have to find a product you like for her hair.

I wouldn't straighten a baby's hair. I'm sure there is a safe kid hair product you could use to control the frizz.

Re: Anyone good with hair? I need help
my daughter has super curly hair. Ringlets!
Always been a tackle. What I do is an anti frizz cream after shower. Shampoo and conditioner is Sleek and Straight type- helps soften her curls.
I make her shower in am and place product in and let air dry.

Re: Anyone good with hair? I need help
I would not put anything harsh or a straightener in her hair. I would try to find some type of gentle anti frizz serum to add to it when its wet and let it dry and see how that works.

Straightener on a 4yr olds hair?? No way!!
As others have said. There are plenty of products out there you can use that is safe for a toddlers hair.
Even though her hair grows slowly, I would still consider a trim. Could help with the frizz and growth.

I would get her a trim cause that will help with the frizzy ends. My DD had curly hair when she was younger (now it's more wavy instead of curly). I shampoo, conditioner, a detangler spray and a curl cream on her hair. I usually let it air dry. Or I'll dry it with a round brush.

Re: Anyone good with hair? I need help
I am assuming when she said... straighten it....she meant blow it out with a dryer and brush. Not chemically straighten it. At least I hope so ....

Re: Anyone good with hair? I need help
I feel your pain DD is cursed with my frizzy hair as well. I like the Deva Curl line for her, yes they are a little pricey but a little goes along way. Always use conditioner and brush when wet with a wide tooth comb and apply Deva Curl Styling Crème. It looks the best when I let it air dry but I use the diffuser on the blow dryer and that works great to in the winter. I also never brush her hair dry and use a water spay bottle to fix the curls in between hair washing days.

Oh maybe!
But when she said she seemed to young to do this I thought she meant for the chemicals.
Maybe just do a trim to start

Sounds like my hair!
A trim will definitely help with the frizz/mess. Try to find someone who specializes in curls - there's a ton out there. She probably won't need anything other than that and moisturizing shampoo. (It's better to learn to embrace the curls now!)
