anyone had a d & c?

I may have to have one for mid cycle bleeding. I'm terrified of surgery so I was wondering what others' experiences are. TIA

I've had three for miscarriages. Not bad at all. I think your situation may be different though.

I am having my first one a week from fri for mid cycle bleeding...they found polyps. My mom has had a bunch and said its not bad at all cause they knock you out. I can give you an update soon and let you know.

I've had 2 - one for mid-cycle bleeding (they were also doing a hysteroscopy at the time) and one for a miscarriage. I was fully knocked out for both and both were fine. I was slightly more uncomfortable after the hysteroscopy d&c, but it wasn't bad by any means...I was just a bit crampy & had painful gas afterwards, but the gas was a side-effect of the hysteroscopy (not the D&C). thanks ladies for your replies; you've put me somewhat at ease. Guess its just fear of the unknown and being in the medical field knowing all the things that can go wrong with any procedure.
