Anyone have a child (1+ yrs) allergic to milk?
Looks like Kevin is allergic to milk. Any time has has it he vomits and breaks out in hives.
He's on soy milk now and doing well but now I need advice on feeding a milk allergic child.
Foods to buy (brand names you like)
Websites / or LI stores that stock dairy free , milk free food.
Any advice, tips would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything else, but have you tried Goats milk? I know that kids who have problems with cows milk can often do well with Goats Milk. we can buy it in our supermarkets here, its very common now. I even bought some Goats Milk formula...

Re: Anyone have a child (1+ yrs) allergic to milk?
Yep, my daughter is allergic to both milk and eggs.
I fed her Isomil until 1 yr old and now she's on soymilk.
I would be careful about the goat's milk - if the allergy is to the milk protein, it could be very similar between animals and still warrant a reaction. It's safer to go with soymilk or rice milk.
Basically, I bake and cook a lot of her food and sub soymilk in place of cow's milk. When shopping, I read labels and look for things that are kosher or pareve.
FM me with any questions - I know how hard it can be do deal wth

Oh and name brands: Thomas' plain mini bagels are safe - I can't remember the name of the bread we buy - must look and get back to you Fleischmann's Unsalted butter is pareve - but some stores no longer carry the sticks for some reason - just be sure to buy the box with the green label and read all ingredients carefully.

Thanks for the info. I'm getting some books out of the library on food allergies in kids.

Have you seen an allergist yet? If not, I'd highly recommend going to one and getting the epi-pen, full allergy profile, etc.
