Anyone have a double oven like this?
Anyone have something like this??
Right now we have a double oven-When I first saw it I thought it was ugly and wanted it out ASAP. Well I fell in love with it and love having a double oven.
When we redo our kitchen whenever that may be-We still wanted to keep that double oven. DH found this online. With this one we could also save space by putting a microwave above it.

This is what I want too. I had double ovens growing up and I SO miss them since I moved out on my own.

Re: Anyone have a double oven like this?
We're probably going to get one when we redo our kitchen. There are so many times when we're (DW) just heating up a pan of lasagna, or a tray of french fries. It would be nice to not have to heat up the huge oven.
Almost every brand has a double oven now. They are gaining in popularity. The price range varies a lot, though.....

I have a similar kind, but its wall mounted. It got a smaller oven with a broiler and a regular sized oven.

Re: Anyone have a double oven like this?
I have one - a Jenn-Aire Dual Fuel.
I love it. The top oven heats faster so it's quicker and easier for me to use on a daily basis - cookies, reheating pizza, casseroles, etc..
If I am making a roast - totally the bottom oven since it has a convection roast option.. and I can still use the top for rolls, veggies, taters, etc.. while the roast is still cooking! I also use the top oven for it's 'keep warm' option.

Re: Anyone have a double oven like this?
My MIL has one like that and loves it.
We wanted a slide-in (not free-standing) range and couldn't find any that had the double oven. I actually found that I haven't needed the double oven and probably hardly ever will.

I've never seen that before but I'm fairly new to all this..
I wanted a double oven in our kitchen, but we don't have the space. This is certainly an option!

Re: Anyone have a double oven like this?
In our old townhouse we had an oven like that. It was a Maytag. I thought it would be great, but I ended up never using the top oven except for broiling. Since it's so small anything you put in there is close to the heat source and burns easily. Mine was gas, maybe it's better with electric?

My brother has one in his kitchen and I want one when I get a house eventually. I love that feature. Plus, the drawer that I have now just gets filled with dust.

Re: Anyone have a double oven like this?
i've seen that one before and have been dreaming of a double wall oven. We have a regular single all in one stove/oven, so I thought this would be better/less construction, but have wondered something... i hate having to bend down, get blasted with heat everytime i go to take something out of the oven. The main part in that one is even lower, i wonder if most people either don't mind the bending and use the lower one or use the top one more. Also, someone recently posted something about this oven on parenting. Her DD hurt her hand very badly on that oven, I forgot the details, but I think it may have been newlymrs who posted it.

Re: Anyone have a double oven like this?
I have a Maytag one and I ADORE it. It's fantastic. The bottom one is big enough to fit anything and the top open is fantastic, too. I utilize both ovens all the time cooking and have NO complaints.

My top oven is big enough to fit any casserole dish and cooks slower than the bottom overn. I've heard people say this about double ovens, but it's never been my experience.
Both ovens cook evenly and the top oven actually cooks just a tad slower than the bottom oven I've found.
I can roast potatoes, bake chicken / fish / pork, cook casseroles, etc. in the top oven. I use it more often than the bottom.

I don't know why you would get more blasted with heat by this oven than a regular oven. You may have to bend down a few inches lower... but honestly that's not a big enough deal to me to be a deal breaker with an oven. You're bending over anyway...
I use the top one more personally, but the bottom oven really isn't a pain to get to at all. I never noticed a difference from a regular oven.
