Re: Anyone have a really hard time the first week home with #2?
Absolutely everything I felt the first few weeks home with DS. It is SO SO SO hard in the beginning, I sometimes don't even remember getting through it, I think I blocked most of it out. Like you, I had a really rough birthing experience with DS and it did mess with my emotions and feelings for awhile. I missed just having DD so badly, I missed the way things were plus DS was colicky. All I can say is, like a switch, one day, everything is normal again and you have managed to make a new life and routine that is second nature. It is going to suck for a little while longer but just breathe and have faith that this flies by. Also, remember that your hormones are wacko right now, a lot of your feelings are out of your control right now.

Thanks so much everyone.... I hope that each day gets better because it is terrible feeling like this. I am very lucky that dh is super aware of my feelings and being the most amazing support.
I just can't wait to feel like myself again. I haven't eaten really anything since we got home --- a granola bar, yogurt, some fruit ...... And I know i need to be heating for everyone.

This is exactly what I'm so afraid of when DD is born in July. I had the baby blues with Anthony- really bad for the first few weeks I can only pray that it will pass me this time around. I realized (after having a child) that I really dont ajust to change well- guess I never really knew that about myself. Once I step out of my "daily routine", I have an extremely hard time agusiting. Add a lack of sleep and the pressure of every person you know wanting to come over to see the baby (and expect you to be happy go lucky)- It takes a toll. My whole maternity leave I was miserable. All I knew was working full time every day.
Jenn.... This too shall pass. Hang in there. This time, you have a little helper that even when things seem rough, you can look at Sadies beautiful face & smile. Everything will be okay, the guilt would eventually go away and you will step back into another routine.

What you feel is totally normal.
I had ZERO appetite as well. I couldn't even think about food. All I wanted was to just be around DC#1.
It will pass and you will start to feel like yourself. What helped me was talking about it and also putting DD on OUR schedule. I went out with DS and brougt DD along. I still went to the park...Ecology center...walks..etc.
